USA Lacrosse Announces Top Young Talent for 2025 U17 and U19 National Teams

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse has proudly named 48 of the country’s finest young girls’ lacrosse players to the 2025 U17 and U19 Youth National teams.

The selection follows a national combine held at USA Lacrosse headquarters in late July, where nearly 175 standout athletes showcased their skills.

The U.S. U17 and U19 Youth National teams are set to compete during the Rivalry Challenge against teams from Lacrosse Canada on the weekend of September 18-21 at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

Additionally, they will take the field again from October 24-26 to face teams from the Haudenosaunee Nationals and Team Ontario as part of the Brogden Cup.

These Youth National Teams are a vital component of the National Team Development Program, which expanded this year to encompass boys’ and girls’ teams across U15, U17, and U19 age brackets.

Over 2,000 players from across the nation have engaged in this initiative, which was launched in 2019 to provide elite training and foster familiarity with the national team structure for top young players.

The head coaches for the U17 team are Lindsay Teeters, head coach at American University, and Katie Thomson, head coach at UAlbany.

They are supported by USA gold medalist Kylie Ohlmiller and Brandi Padilla, an associate head coach at San Diego State.

For the U19 team, the co-head coaches are Amy Altig of the University of Delaware and Lauren Skellchock from Mount St. Mary’s University, with the assistance of Amy Moreau, assistant coach at Penn State, and Jessy Morgan, the Athletic Director at Garrison Forest School in Maryland.

The National Team Development Program receives support from various sponsors, including Capelli Sport, Gait Lacrosse, STX, MedStar Health, Athletic Republic, First Scout Productions, HotelPlanner, and NCSA.
