Delta Airlines has announced the launch of two new nonstop routes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking a pivotal expansion for the airline from one of its key hubs.
The new service will commence daily flights to Hong Kong (HKG) starting June 6, 2026, followed by three daily flights to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) beginning June 7, 2026.
These additions underscore Delta’s commitment to enhancing its presence at LAX, solidifying its status as the largest global carrier at the airport.
Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, expressed enthusiasm about the new routes. “Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets,” he stated.

The new service also enhances Delta Cargo’s transpacific network, creating a critical new freight corridor between two of the most significant cargo markets globally.
Utilizing the widebody Airbus A350 aircraft, which can accommodate over 20 tons of cargo per flight, the new connection enables Delta to transport high-value shipments, including electronics, e-commerce products, and perishables.
This improved logistics infrastructure between Asia and North America bolsters Delta’s ability to support global supply chains effectively.
Furthermore, the addition of Hong Kong flights strengthens Delta’s partnership with Korean Air, expanding options for customers traveling across the Pacific.

Travelers departing from LAX for either Hong Kong or Chicago can expect an enhanced airport experience designed for relaxation and efficiency.
Delta One passengers traveling to Hong Kong will enjoy exclusive access to the newly opened Delta One Lounge at LAX.
This luxury space features nearly 200 seats, a chef-curated rotating menu, a year-round sushi bar, a wellness room with full-body massage chairs, and interior design inspired by Southern California.
Additionally, Delta One customers benefit from a dedicated concierge-style service from curb to gate, ensuring a seamless journey.
In Chicago, eligible travelers can relax in the spacious Delta Sky Club located in Terminal 5, which is part of a $50 million investment to improve the terminal’s amenities.
This club spans over 22,000 square feet, providing a comfortable and inviting area for guests to recharge before their flights.
Delta’s in-flight experience is also set to impress, with the daily flights to Hong Kong operated on the flagship Airbus A350-900.
This aircraft offers four classes of service: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
Delta One features lie-flat seating, premium bedding, and a seasonal chef-curated four-course meal designed to provide a first-class experience.
Delta Premium Select offers wider seats with deeper recline and enhanced amenities, ensuring additional comfort for travelers.
Meanwhile, the flights to Chicago O’Hare will be serviced by the Boeing 737-800, featuring Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
