This weekend in Portland promises a variety of engaging and entertaining events that cater to all tastes and preferences. From music festivals to cultural screenings, there’s something happening around every corner.

Starting the weekend off on Thursday, July 24, Living Room Wines will host an unforgettable Drag Bingo night featuring the lively and talented Quesa D’Mondays. Known as Portland’s “cheesy, briezy, bleutiful songstress,” she’ll take center stage, ensuring an evening filled with laughter and excitement. Patrons can sample exquisite wines while participating in bingo games for a chance to win fantastic prizes. With a cozy atmosphere at 4818 N Lombard St., it’s an ideal place for friends to gather from 6 to 8 pm. Tickets are reasonably priced at $5 per card.

As the weekend unfolds, comedy enthusiasts will be thrilled to attend the seventh annual Portland Sketch Comedy Festival, which runs from July 24 to 26. This event brings together sketch comedy performers from all over the United States, including talent from major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. The Siren Theater, located at 3913 N Mississippi Ave., will be buzzing with energy as troupes deliver their best material during various performances. Tickets start at $18, making it an affordable choice for those looking for laughs.

On Friday, July 25, the nostalgic SNAP! Y2K Neon Beach Rave will take place at Holocene. Celebrating 18 years of party culture in the Northwest, this event encourages attendees to don their most eye-catching neon bathing suits. With glow sticks, beach balls, and classic video games featured on the big screen, the vibe promises to transport guests back to a time of pop culture exuberance. Dance the night away to the greatest hits of the ’90s and ’00s, but be reminded that only the original tracks are allowed. Tickets are sold for $13.15, and the event starts at 9 pm. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.

On Saturday, July 26, a significant documentary screening titled No Place to Grow Old will take place at Tomorrow Theater. This impactful film has been showcased 92 times since its premiere and draws attention to the distressing issue of senior homelessness in Portland. Through the lives of three older adults, viewers gain insight into the challenges they face and the systemic factors at play. The screening will begin at 7 pm and includes a post-film discussion featuring producer Michael Larson and Northwest Pilot Project director Laura Golino de Lovato. Tickets for this enlightening experience are $15.

In one of the city’s most iconic events, the World Naked Bike Ride will also be happening on Saturday evening. Starting at 6:30 pm, participants are encouraged to gather at Grant Park and celebrate body positivity while advocating for an anti-oil message. The route remains a surprise until the event begins, but one thing is clear: this vibrantly unique ride showcases Portland’s spirit of freedom and expression. Attendees are reminded to arrive in a sustainable way and are advised not to strip down until they reach the park.

Rounding off the incredible weekend is the much-anticipated Project Pabst festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27. This music festival is set to feature renowned acts including Iggy Pop, Devo, and Death Cab for Cutie, among others, taking over the Portland waterfront at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. With a whopping 22-foot unicorn greeting festival-goers, the atmosphere is sure to be festive. Join locals for cheap beers, delicious food from local vendors, and live performances from beloved artists. The event runs from noon to 10 pm on Saturday and 1 pm to 10 pm on Sunday, with ticket prices starting at $95 for those 21 and older.
