This weekend promises a variety of engaging activities across Los Angeles, with something appealing for everyone.

From July 25 to 27, the events include a collaboration between KCRW Summer Nights and Grand Performances, Off the 405 at The Getty, and The Natural World of Studio Ghibli at The Ford, among many others.

Kicking off the weekend, The Natural World of Studio Ghibli showcases a trio of beloved Hayao Miyazaki films, including The Boy and the Heron on July 25 at 8 p.m., Howl’s Moving Castle on July 26 at 8 p.m., and The Wind Rises on July 27 at 7:30 p.m. These screenings will be hosted by film critic Carlos Aguilar, featuring trivia and prizes offered by Super Yaki.

Another vibrant celebration happens in Long Beach with the Long Beach Walls x Art Renzei Festival, running from July 20 to 26. This week-long festival brings together muralists and artists who will activate the streets with stunning murals and art installations. Attendees can expect special programming, including a Moonlight Mash Bike Mural Tour and a Night Market on Friday night.

On Friday, Grand Performances will feature two intriguing events. The first is a poetry series inspired by Bengali Muslim feminist Begum Rokeya, while the second is a KCRW Summer Nights Concert featuring Baby Rose and Angélica Garcia on Saturday.
