Lindsay Lohan Trades Hollywood for Life in Dubai

Lindsay Lohan, best known for her roles in films like Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, has made a significant lifestyle change by relocating to Dubai since 2015.

Originally hailing from New York City, Lohan’s journey through various cities, including Los Angeles and London, has been well-documented.

She even spent time in Mykonos, Greece, where she opened a beach club, a venture showcased in the MTV docuseries Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club.

However, it appears the glitz and glamour of Hollywood are now behind her as she embraces a more tranquil existence in Dubai.

In a recent interview with Flaunt, Lohan highlighted that her daily routine in Dubai mirrors that of any typical mother, akin to her previous life in Los Angeles, with one notable exception—the time zone difference.

She explained that the shift results in her working on New York time, conducting calls in the early hours of the morning while the Los Angeles crowd catches up later in the day.

Lohan’s decision to move to Dubai stemmed from a desire for privacy, having been subject to constant paparazzi scrutiny.

In a July 2025 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, she mentioned feeling “very safe” in the UAE city and emphasized the legal restrictions on photography, which allow her to enjoy a life relatively free from unwanted attention.

“The paparazzi isn’t a thing here.

You can’t take a picture of someone else if you’re in a restaurant—you have to ask the person,” she explained, noting how crucial privacy has become for her life.

Lohan’s life in Dubai has been enriched by personal milestones as well.

She tied the knot with financier Bader Shammas, also based in Dubai, in 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Luai, in July 2023.

Their romance sparked at a restaurant in Dubai, where, according to Lohan, an intense conversation led her to believe Shammas was her forever partner.

Since moving to Dubai, Lohan has expressed her appreciation for the serenity that the city offers.

In a December 2017 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she described her love for New York but acknowledged the peacefulness she experiences in the Middle East.

The lack of cameras allows her to focus on her goals without being “scrutinized every second.”

“I can have a private life and a public life, but when I choose to,” she added, highlighting the importance of this balance in her life.

Despite her apparent happiness in Dubai, Lohan has not ruled out a potential return to the U.S.

In a May 2025 interview with Chloe Fineman for Elle, she revealed that she spent less than half of 2024 in Dubai.

While she and her husband enjoy life in Dubai, they acknowledge the importance of making decisions about their child’s future.

With her son reaching school age soon, the couple is contemplating where to settle down for his education.

The actress stated, “We have until he’s 5,” indicating that the next few years will be pivotal in determining their family’s direction.

As she continues to thrive in her new environment, the question remains whether Lohan will ever fully reintegrate herself into the Hollywood scene or if Dubai will become her permanent sanctuary.

For now, Lohan seems content with her choice to stay away from the Hollywood spotlight, embracing a lifestyle that prioritizes her family’s privacy and her personal growth.
