As the Las Vegas Valley braces for a scorching weekend, high temperatures are expected to reach an alarming 106 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday, with forecasts predicting an even warmer 107 degrees on Sunday.
In response to the rising heat, Clark County has opened several cooling stations across the area to provide relief for residents and visitors. These cooling stations will remain operational through Sunday, ensuring that anyone in need of a break from the heat has access to a safe and cool environment.
Some of the cooling stations offer 24-hour service, while others operate solely during daytime hours. According to the latest information from the National Weather Service, this weekend marks one of the hottest periods so far, highlighting the necessity for these facilities.
In addition to the central locations listed, numerous libraries throughout Southern Nevada will function as cooling centers, remaining open until 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
