In 2025, Boston will host a series of community events that will involve various parking restrictions across multiple neighborhoods. Individuals attending these events are strongly encouraged to utilize walking, biking, or public transit options. For bicycle enthusiasts, information regarding the Bluebikes regional bike share service can be accessed online. Additionally, those opting for the MBTA are advised to purchase round-trip tickets for quicker commuting. Walking remains a favored method for local travel during these events.
Starting with the BACK BAY neighborhood, the Open Newbury Street Series will take place on Sundays from July 13 through September 21, 2025. The City of Boston will transform Newbury Street into a pedestrian-only walkway, rendering the street car-free to accommodate shoppers, diners, and pedestrians. While Arlington Street, Berkeley Street, Clarendon Street, Dartmouth Street, and Exeter Street will remain open, Fairfield Street, Gloucester Street, and Hereford Street will be closed from Newbury Street.
To ensure smooth drop-off and pick-up, the City plans to implement a 15-minute drop-off area along Berkeley Street and Clarendon Street, in zones that were previously designated as No Stopping. It is essential to be aware of these restrictions on Sundays, particularly on Newbury Street and nearby streets including Fairfield and Gloucester Streets, as well as Berkeley and Clarendon Streets.
Moving to CHINATOWN, the community will celebrate the National Night Out on Monday, August 4, and Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Parking restrictions will be in effect on Harrison Avenue from Oak Street to Marginal Road throughout the two days of this event.
Following this, the Chinatown August Moon Festival is set for Sunday, August 10, 2025. This annual festival marks the end of the harvest season, filled with food, music, dragon dances, and more. To facilitate the festival, parking restrictions will be in place on several streets including Beach Street, Harrison Avenue, Hudson Street, and Tyler Street, ensuring a safe and festive atmosphere for all participants.
In DORCHESTER, the National Night Out will also occur on August 4 and 5, 2025, featuring similar temporary parking restrictions for the cavalcade of vehicles bringing dignitaries to local events. Streets affected will include the west side of Dudley Street, Folsom Street, Harlow Street, and Dorchester Avenue.
EAST BOSTON, too, will partake in the National Night Out with set restrictions on Sumner Street for the same dates, providing a consistent atmosphere across the city.

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Open Streets Boston event is scheduled to celebrate Hyde Park. This event will promote walking, biking, and family-friendly activities in designated car-free areas. Residents and visitors should take note of the extensive parking restrictions that will be enforced across several streets including Central Avenue, Fairmount Avenue, Harvard Avenue, and River Street.

Continuing into the National Night Out on August 4 and 5 for the North End, parking restrictions will be in place along the west side of Hanover Street, ensuring a smooth execution of the events.
Furthermore, the North End will host the Madonna Della Cava feast from August 7 to 10, 2025, with similar street restrictions, and follow up with the annual Saint Anthony Feast and various processions stretching from late August into early September.
Following the Saint Anthony festivities, the San Gennaro Feast will also take place from September 5 to 7, 2025, with parking restrictions applying again to Hanover Street, Battery Street, and Commercial Street.
