Miki Abraham is about to light up Broadway San Diego with the Tony Award-winning comedy, ‘SHUCKED’, which runs from August 12–17. This delightful musical, infused with heartfelt storytelling and humor, centers around small-town secrets and the power of community, all served with a side of corn puns.
As the sharp-tongued Lulu, who is a Best Friend and cousin to Maizy, Miki has been with the show from its early days in Salt Lake City through its Broadway debut. Miki’s full-circle journey finally allows them to step into the role of Lulu in a way that showcases their unique interpretation of the character.
“I joined this company at the same time that Alex Newell joined the company in Salt Lake City, Utah, so I’ve been with the show for three years at this point, pre-Broadway, Broadway, and now the tour,” Miki reflects.
With a career that has evolved within the show, they explain that performing on Broadway meant stepping into a role already established by someone else. Miki now relishes the opportunity to own the character fully.
