Renowned Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to celebrate his white wedding with his wife, Chioma, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at The Havana in Miami, United States.
Before the grand ceremony, a pre-wedding dinner took place in honor of the couple, featuring close family members and friends.
In an online video from the event, the joy and affection between Davido and Chioma were evident, showcasing their love for each other.
Davido was seen wearing a vibrant multicolored outfit, while Chioma dazzled in a beautiful white gown.
The pre-wedding party was attended by notable figures including his colleagues, Adekunle Gold and Teni, as well as popular blogger Tunde Ednut.
While the gathering was filled with love and celebration, some familiar faces were conspicuously absent.
One such absence was that of Davido’s close friend and associate, Cubana Chief Priest, who announced on his Instagram account that he would not be attending the wedding.
Despite his absence, Cubana Chief Priest shared that his wife was present to represent him at the event.
In his heartfelt message, he expressed mixed emotions about missing the significant occasion while sending his best wishes to the couple.
He wrote, “Woke up this morning with mixed feelings. I’m happy and I’m still sad at the same time. Sometimes God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless, regardless of all you may think you have.”
Cubana Chief Priest further expressed his disappointment at not being able to be there in person but highlighted that his family, especially his wife, was there to celebrate the moment.
He continued, “You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding.”
The friend also implied that he was facing visa challenges, asking authorities for assistance in gaining access to the United States.
In a similar vein, it has been suggested that Chioma’s parents would also not be in attendance due to complications with their visa situation.
According to popular journalist Stella Dimokokorkus, Chioma’s parents faced a visa denial following an overstaying during their last visit to the US.
It was reported that their five-year visas were revoked due to an incident when they overstayed to care for Chioma during a challenging postpartum period.
As the festivities unfolded during the pre-wedding party, Davido revealed the wedding’s extravagant budget of $3.7 million.
He candidly stated, “We spent $3.7m in cash. You should know what we are doing. It’s crazy.”
This announcement certainly added another layer of anticipation to the upcoming wedding celebration.
The world is eagerly watching the unfolding of what is expected to be one of the most significant events in the music industry this year.
Compounding the celebrations, Davido also unveiled a new tattoo bearing Chioma’s name on the left side of his lower abdomen during a pre-wedding photoshoot, symbolizing his deep commitment.
As the much-anticipated wedding day arrives, fans and well-wishers alike are excited to witness the love and unity being celebrated by the couple.
