PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — The vibrant culinary scene in Prince George’s County is set to shine as several local eateries participate in the upcoming Summer Restaurant Week, running from August 18 to 24.
Presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), this week-long event offers diners a unique opportunity to sample multi-course, specially priced menus at some of the region’s most renowned restaurants.
During Summer Restaurant Week, patrons can indulge in a variety of meal options, with brunch priced at either $25 or $35, and three-course lunch menus available for $25 or $35.
Dinners will range from $40 to $65, and many participating establishments are enhancing the dining experience by offering cocktail and wine pairings to complement the meals.
In addition to fantastic food, this year’s event will feature live jazz performances, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the week.
Diners also have the chance to enter a raffle for Event DC’s Ultimate Jazz Experience package, which includes two tickets to the DC Jazz Festival, dinner for two at a restaurant of the winner’s choice, and two-night hotel accommodations at the Wharf.
Among the notable Prince George’s County restaurants participating in this year’s Summer Restaurant Week is Pennyroyal Station located in Mount Rainier.
Recognized as the RAMW 2023 Casual Restaurant of the Year, Pennyroyal Station prides itself on being a community gathering place.
Housed in a historic 1900s-era building that once served as the First National Bank of Maryland, this restaurant offers hearty comfort food carefully crafted by Chef Jesse Miller.
Another engaging establishment taking part is Era Wine Bar, also located in Mount Rainier.
As a sommelier-owned, world fusion wine bar, Era Wine Bar offers an eclectic menu featuring dishes inspired by flavors from around the globe.
Nestled in the historic Singer Building just seconds away from the D.C. border, Era has quickly gained recognition as a two-time RAMMYs finalist for ‘Wine Program of the Year’ and has consistently earned the OpenTable ‘Diner’s Choice’ award since it opened in 2021.
With a selection of over 25 wines by the glass and unique Coravin pours, Era aims to create perfect pairings for its carefully curated cuisine, which is heavily influenced by ancient trade routes.
In addition to its dining offerings, there’s also a boutique wine shop and event space available for private gatherings, along with monthly events centered on winemakers and wine education.
Another beloved establishment participating in the event is Milk & Honey, with locations in Bowie, Camp Springs, College Park, and Lanham.
This New Orleans-themed café specializes in southern brunch dishes and has built a reputation for its award-winning shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and rum chata French toast.
All locations offer carryout options, making it easy for diners to enjoy their meal at home.
For those interested in discovering the full lineup of participating restaurants and their menus, a complete schedule can be found on the RAMW website.
The website also provides a search tool that allows diners to filter options by menu type, outdoor dining availability, neighborhood, cuisine, and to check for specific pricing and hours.
As spots tend to fill up quickly during this popular event, organizers recommend making reservations as soon as possible, especially for diners with a specific restaurant or time in mind.
It’s important to note that the special menu prices typically do not include beverages, tax, or gratuity.
The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington hosts two restaurant weeks each year—one in summer and one in winter—to celebrate the diverse selection of dining experiences available in the DMV area.
