East Dallas Schools Shine in 2025 State Ratings

East Dallas schools have received an impressive array of grades, with the latest state ratings for 2025 showing a majority of ‘A’s and ‘B’s across the district. Released last week, these ratings are a reflection of student achievement, progress, and efforts to close the gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged student groups.

In total, East Dallas schools earned 10 ‘A’s, 16 ‘B’s, five ‘C’s, one ‘D’, and notably, no ‘F’s. This marks a significant improvement since the last grading release, with ‘B’ being the most common grade this time around. Interestingly, the number of ‘A’ grades has increased, while the number of ‘C’s and ‘D’s has decreased.

According to a recent article in the Dallas ISD News Hub, the overall Dallas Independent School District (DISD) earned a ‘B’ rating. The number of campuses with ‘A’ and ‘B’ ratings has also seen an increase, while those with ‘F’s have notably decreased.

Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde commended the results in the Dallas ISD article, stating, “These results reflect the unwavering commitment of our educators, students and families. None of this happens without them. While there is still work to be done, these results are a clear sign that we are moving in the right direction, and we will not stop until every school is achieving at a high level. It’s what our kids deserve, and it’s the legacy we are committed to build for every student.”

In a detailed breakdown of the school grades, Alex Sanger Preparatory School in Forest Hills achieved a ‘B’, while Alex W. Spence Talented/Gifted Academy in Belmont Park received an ‘A’. Other schools earning ‘A’ ratings include Dan D. Rogers Elementary School, George W. Truett Elementary School, Personalized Learning Preparatory at J.W. Ray Learning Center, Lakewood Elementary School, Larry G. Smith Elementary School, Mockingbird Elementary School, Mount Auburn STEAM Academy, Reinhardt Elementary School, and Solar Preparatory School for Girls.

A number of schools secured ‘B’ ratings as well, such as Bayles Elementary School, Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy, Casa View Elementary School, Cesar Chavez Learning Center, Eduardo Mata Montessori School, Edwin J. Kiest Elementary School, Geneva Heights Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School, Solar Preparatory School for Boys, along with many others.

However, not all ratings were as stellar; Charles A. Gill Elementary School and Harold Wendell Lang Sr. Middle School each earned a ‘C’. Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary School received a ‘D’, marking it the only school in the district with a grade below a ‘C’. Additionally, the Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Academy earned a ‘C’, as did Oran M. Roberts Elementary School and S.S. Conner Elementary School.

Overall, the results from East Dallas schools highlight a continued effort for progress and improvement. With a high percentage of schools earning top ratings, there is a positive outlook for the future as educators, students, and families work together to maintain and enhance educational standards in the district.

As the Dallas ISD continues to strive for excellence, these ratings showcase the dedication evident in the East Dallas community.
