Weekend Events in San Diego: Celebrate Music, Culture, and Community

San Diego, often referred to as America’s Finest City, is ready to host an array of exciting events this weekend that guarantee entertainment for everyone.

Starting Friday, September 12, music lovers can enjoy Billy Nation, a tribute to the legendary Billy Joel, at the Belly Up, kicking off at 9 p.m. with tickets starting at $22.

For those who appreciate classic tunes, the Epstein Family Amphitheater welcomes a night of Frank Sinatra’s greatest hits at 8 p.m. Tickets for this event are available for $40.

Pop group Fly by Midnight will take the stage at Soma San Diego at 8 p.m., offering their fans a live experience with tickets priced at $34.31.

DJ Erick Orrosquieta, known as Deorro, will be performing at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre at 8 p.m., with tickets beginning at $25.

In addition to musical events, the Alley Cat Art Walk is set to take place in downtown El Cajon starting at 4 p.m. This free event features vendors, live music, and art, making for a vibrant evening out.

Saturday, September 13, brings even more entertainment options. Noah Cyrus is scheduled to perform at the House of Blues at 7 p.m., with ticket prices starting at $45.75.

Additionally, the Mexican Independence Day Celebration will be hosted at The Old Globe at 11 a.m. This free event will feature a lineup of local artists, including Mariachi and dance performances, showcasing the rich culture of the community.

For fitness enthusiasts, Yoga On The Roof at Alma San Diego Downtown offers classes every weekend through December 7, free for hotel guests and $15 for outside attendees, led by instructor Sara Silberstang.

On Sunday, September 14, families can enjoy a magical evening with The Prince of Egypt, presented at the Moonlight Amphitheatre at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices start at $41.

Movies at the Park continues through November 1, inviting locals to bring their favorite snacks and enjoy movie nights under the stars in various neighborhood parks, all free of charge.

The Heart, based on a novel by Maylis de Kerangal, is running at La Jolla Playhouse through September 28, although limited tickets are available.
