fromis_9 Shines in Washington, D.C. During Their First Ever World Tour

On August 28, the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. buzzed with excitement as fans gathered under a warm summer sun to witness a momentous performance by the Korean girl group fromis_9.

The quintet’s arrival in the nation’s capital marked a significant milestone as they embarked on their first-ever world tour, titled NOW TOMORROW.

After nearly seven years under their previous company, the members—Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung, and Baek Ji-heon—reformed as a five-member group under the label Asnd.

This reunion not only signifies a new chapter for the group but also brings together fans, affectionately known as ‘flover,’ who eagerly anticipated this performance.

Many U.S. fans had never seen the original nine-member lineup and were thrilled at the prospect of experiencing the NOW TOMORROW. tour.

As the crowd filled the theater, the diverse audience radiated a unified excitement—families, young adults, and couples alike came together, eager to celebrate the music and talent of fromis_9.

At 7:30 PM, the lights dimmed, and anticipation peaked.

A quick VCR played on the screens, building excitement until the stage lit up with blue lights, revealing the members clad in matching white outfits.

The thrilling opener, “WE GO,” instantly ignited cheers, setting the stage for an evening of energetic performances.

Next on the program was “REBELUTIONAL,” an empowering anthem that showcased not only the girls’ charisma but also Ha-young’s impressive high note, which resulted in enthusiastic shouts from the audience.

The upbeat song “Love=Disaster,” from their latest EP, released in June, followed, allowing the members to engage in a lively jam session before transitioning back to synchronized choreography.

Taking a breath, they formally introduced themselves, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the fans who stood by them through various changes.

Na-gyung’s enthusiastic shout about the fans’ energy amplified the already electric atmosphere in the venue.

The members interacted playfully with the audience, culminating in an exciting challenge for them to cheer on cue—resulting in a roaring response that surpassed their expectations.

“Twisted Love” featured standing mics, giving the girls a chance to display their vocal abilities while the audience clapped along to the beat.

The setlist then slowed down with “Blind Letter,” captivating fans with their harmonious blend of voices.

In a delightful surprise, the members brought out small strawberry squish toys during “Strawberry Mimosa” and playfully tossed them into the crowd, creating a fun moment of interaction with fans.

As the show progressed into solo performances, the energy shifted dynamically, beginning with Ji-heon, who, dressed beautifully with her guitar, captivated the audience by covering Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.”

Na-gyung delighted the spectators next with her rendition of Taeyeon’s “All About You,” brought to life under a stunning moonlit backdrop.

Following her was Chae-young, who performed “Who Says” by Selena Gomez, inviting audience singalongs that echoed through the hall.

Ha-young took the stage next, showcasing her considerable dance skills with a hip-hop solo set to “Anxiety Kills,” revealing a sharp contrast to the group’s bright, bubbly image.

Ji-won wrapped up the solo section with a high-energy performance of Ariana Grande’s “Greedy,” effortlessly hitting challenging notes while engaging the crowd with her sassy performance.

After this display of individual talent, the girls took a brief pause, and a charming VCR played, highlighting the fun moments shared among the members.

Returning with renewed vigor wearing edgier outfits, the girls went straight into “Rewind,” seamlessly melded into “Attitude,” showcasing a fiercer, empowered side through sharper choreography.

Their rendition of the Miami bass summer hit “Supersonic” had concert-goers singing along at the top of their lungs, a testament to the energetic response the group elicited.

Following this was the latest summer anthem, “LIKE YOU BETTER,” leading into the highly anticipated closing number, “DM,” which had the audience moving and singing along with abandon.

As the lights dimmed once again and the group exited the stage, a heartfelt VCR featuring interviews with the members gave fans further insight into their personalities and their enduring friendship.

From Ji-heon expressing her hopes for the group’s future to Ha-young sharing her emotional gratitude, the segment strengthened the bond between the members and followers.

To the audience’s delight, the members returned for an encore, clad in casual tour merchandise.

They opened the encore with “Stay This Way,” playfully interacting with the audience, taking selfies, and throwing out hand hearts.

In a whimsical twist during their performance of “Love Bomb,” each member tossed signed balls into the crowd, continuing the festive atmosphere of the night.

During their encore, the group took a moment to express their feelings toward their supporters, with Ha-young emphasizing how special it was to feel the fans’ energy despite the distance between them.

Ji-won poignantly admitted her long wait to connect with the fans, underscoring the joy and importance of this moment.

As they wrapped up with “Merry Go Round,” the members engaged further with the audience, embodying their desire to strengthen the connection with their fans.

In a surprising twist, they decided to perform both “Supersonic” and “Eye Contact,” igniting cheers from the crowd.

As the show came to a close, fans rushed for one last chance to connect with the members, as the collective experience of the concert created an emotional backdrop for the night.

With heartfelt farewells, fans echoed sentiments of disbelief that the show had ended and expressed joy at finally seeing fromis_9 live.

Throughout the evening, fromis_9 showcased their passion for performance and their bond with flover, creating unforgettable moments that will be cherished as they continue their NOW TOMORROW. tour in Asia starting September 23 in Tokyo.

This concert will undoubtedly be marked as a pivotal moment for both fromis_9 and their fans, proving that their journey is just beginning.
