Elon Musk has intensified his critique of President Donald Trump’s signature spending bill, urging his followers to call on Congress to reject it.
With a series of posts on X, Musk declared that no one should “be able to stomach” the massive legislation, referring to it as a potential financial disaster for the nation.
In a particularly forceful post, Musk rallied his more than 200 million followers, instructing them to contact their Congress members with the message to “KILL the BILL.”
On Wednesday alone, Musk had already posted or amplified messages criticizing the spending bill over 25 times, expressing his strong disapproval.
Musk’s frustrations were clear in his remarks, stating: “Mammoth spending bills are bankrupting America! ENOUGH.”
In response, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson dismissed Musk’s assessment, asserting that the tech billionaire was incorrect about the bill’s implications for the national deficit.
Johnson revealed that he attempted to reach Musk via phone the previous night but did not receive a response.
In a video pitched on X that featured Johnson’s comments, Musk retorted, “We need a new bill that doesn’t grow the deficit.”
He further substantiated his position by commenting on another video of Johnson, insisting, “No one who actually reads the bill should be able to stomach it.”
In contrast, Johnson explained the urgency of implementing the bill, saying, “We don’t have time for a brand-new bill.”
He urged Musk and his supporters to appreciate the complexities and achievements of the legislation, boasting record savings and significant tax reductions for Americans.
Musk’s discontent with the Trump administration seems to extend beyond just the spending bill.
Sources allege that Musk has been vocal about various frustrations regarding the Trump administration’s recent actions.
One area of contention is the proposed reduction of the electric vehicle tax credit included in the spending bill.

Trade policy has also become a point of conflict; Musk publicly criticized trade advisor Peter Navarro, labeling him a “moron” and “dumber than a sack of bricks” on X this past April.
As tensions mount, the White House has opted not to comment on Musk’s remarks, while a representative for the billionaire has not responded to inquiries regarding the situation.
