A trough developing to the northwest will cause trade winds to briefly veer towards the east-southeast on Monday, after which trades will strengthen by Tuesday into Wednesday as the trough moves away.

As the ridge strengthens, trade winds are likely to produce widespread fresh to strong conditions this weekend.

Currently, the south-southwest swell has reached its peak and is anticipated to decline gradually through the midweek.

There is also a possibility of a small south-southwest swell arriving on Friday into the weekend.

Surf conditions along east-facing shores will remain moderate as a short-period northeast swell continues through Monday.

As trade winds pick up throughout the week, expect an increase in rough and choppy wave conditions moving into the latter part of the week due to the increasing windswell.

Additionally, a trough located north of the state may yield small short-period energy coming from the north Tuesday through midweek.
