Family Fights for Humanitarian Parole to Reunite for ailing Girl’s Care

An 11-year-old girl, a U.S. citizen recovering from a rare brain tumor, has been living in Mexico after immigration authorities deported her undocumented parents four months ago while they were en route to a medical appointment in Texas.

The girl’s mother disclosed to NBC News that her daughter’s health condition has not improved since the family was forced to relocate.

In an effort to bring the family back to the U.S. for the medical care the girl needs, they applied for humanitarian parole with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Thursday.

The mother expressed the urgency of their situation, saying, “We’re fighting for my girl’s life.
