Exciting New Culinary Ventures at Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards is rapidly becoming a culinary hotspot with an array of new dining options set to open in the coming months.

Eataly, a beloved Italian marketplace, is preparing to open its fourth New York City outpost in Hudson Yards in spring 2025. This expansion follows Eataly’s establishment of 12 North American locations and over 50 stores worldwide, signaling its commitment to bringing authentic Italian cuisine to even more patrons in Manhattan.

Alongside Eataly’s announcement, the iconic Russ & Daughters has officially opened a new location in Hudson Yards. Situated on the ground floor of the towering 50 Hudson Yards, this 4,500-square-foot shop retains the classic offerings fans have come to love, including hand-sliced smoked fish, bagels, bialys, and even a caviar and champagne bar for a more upscale dining experience. This Lower East Side staple, with a history spanning over a century, has retained its classic charm while adapting to the modern culinary landscape.

Further enhancing the Hudson Yards dining scene, chef Gabriel Kreuther, known for his Michelin-starred eponymous restaurant, will bring his talents to two new dining concepts in the Spiral tower. This 66-story design marvel will feature both a full-service restaurant and an all-day café focusing on breakfast and lunch, available to diners in 2024. Kreuther’s involvement in this project underlines the area’s appeal to gourmet dining.

A new late-night cocktail bar, Peakaboo, is set to open on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, directly above the impressive observation deck, Edge. Opening on February 5, Peakaboo will offer not just cocktails but also a lively nightlife atmosphere, complete with a live DJ and breathtaking views of New York City.

In addition, Magnolia Bakery has recently unveiled its eighth location in New York City at The Shops at Hudson Yards. Nestled on the fourth floor of the sprawling complex, the new space boasts signature treats such as its renowned banana pudding and an assortment of cupcakes, including limited-edition varieties to delight visitors.

Kossar’s Bagels & Bialys, the oldest bialy bakery in the United States, is also expanding with a new second location at Hudson Yards. This venture marks a significant milestone for the establishment, which has been serving Jewish specialties since 1936, as it broadens its reach beyond the Lower East Side.

The excitement doesn’t end there; the restaurant Peak on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards will be reopening for indoor dining on October 6. This vast 10,000-square-foot dining area, which temporarily closed due to pandemic restrictions earlier this year, is ready to welcome patrons back with reservations now being accepted.

Mercado Little Spain, helmed by celebrated chef José Andrés, stands out with its unique design concept. The venue invites guests to explore a series of ‘streets’ featuring different Spanish culinary kiosks, offering everything from Ibérico hams to pan con tomate. This market, which showcases the richness of Spanish culture and cuisine, has made a significant impact on the food scene at Hudson Yards.

In another exclusive development, a new supper club known as WS New York is set to open this fall at 35 Hudson Yards. The club aims to cater to a highly exclusive clientele, offering a luxurious dining experience complete with access to fine wines and spirits, yet will not be available to residents of the adjacent high-end apartments.

Moreover, to provide a more accessible dining experience, the popular open-air food market Smorgasburg is making its way to Hudson Yards this spring. This mini version of the famed market will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring a wide range of vendors and more affordable meal options, making it easier for visitors and locals alike to sample diverse flavors from around the city.

With each new addition, Hudson Yards continues to solidify its status as a premier destination for food enthusiasts, offering a blend of high-end dining, casual eateries, and diverse culinary experiences that cater to every palate.
