Chicago and Suburbs Gear Up for Independence Day Celebrations

As the Fourth of July approaches, Chicago and its surrounding suburbs are preparing to light up the skies with fireworks and festivities throughout the long weekend. Various celebrations are slated across the region, ensuring residents and visitors have plenty of options to enjoy the spirit of Independence Day.

Starting off the celebrations, Aurora will kick things off with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. on July 3. The best spots for viewing are the Aurora Transportation Center and McCullough Park, alongside a parade scheduled for July 4 at 10 a.m. in Downtown Aurora, which will commence at the intersection of Benton Street and Broadway Street.

In Berwyn, fireworks enthusiasts can gather at Morton West High School, where doors will open at 8 p.m. on July 3 for viewing the evening’s show.

Bridgeview will host its annual fireworks display at Commissioners Park, set to begin at 9:15 p.m. on July 3. Located at 8100 S. Beloit Ave, this show promises to be a highlight of the night.

Burr Ridge will bring its community together for an annual fireworks show at Walker Park at dusk on July 3. Festivities will begin early at 5:30 p.m. with a Family Fun Area featuring activities like face painting, a balloon artist, and a dunk tank, alongside a selection of food trucks.

Deerfield’s fireworks will light up the sky at 9:15 p.m. on July 3, with viewing from Shepard Park. The community will also celebrate with a parade on July 4 starting at noon, which will kick off at Deerspring Pool, alongside a variety of family-friendly activities planned over both days.

In Glencoe, locals can anticipate a fireworks display at 9 p.m. at Lakefront Park on July 3, with festivities beginning at 5 p.m. The following day, a Fun Run is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the Glencoe Train Station, leading to more entertainment with a parade at 1 p.m. in Downtown Glencoe.

Lemont’s fireworks will be visible from Centennial Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 3. Before the show, families can enjoy a celebration starting at 4 p.m. with music, food vendors, and a dedicated kids zone, featuring performances from the Tim Gleason Band at 6 p.m.

Lisle has scheduled its fireworks display for 9:30 p.m. at Community Park on July 3, starting the evening off with food, drinks, and music from 5:30 p.m. The next day, a parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. at Lisle Junior High School, followed by an ice cream social shortly thereafter.

Lockport’s fireworks will be showcased at Dellwood Park at dusk on July 3, inviting residents to to come and celebrate.

Mokena will introduce its fireworks after games and food are featured earlier in the day, with the show set to begin at 9:30 p.m. in Main Park. The following day, a parade will commence at 10 a.m. on Wolf Road.

In Oak Brook, the fireworks are part of the Taste of Oakbrook festival, starting at 4 p.m. on July 3. This exciting event will culminate with fireworks launching at 9:30 p.m. from the Village Sports Core Fields.

Palos Heights also has scheduled its fireworks for July 3 at Memorial Park at 9:15 p.m. This event follows a day full of fun and entertainment that begins at 10 a.m. A subsequent parade is to occur the next day on Harlem Avenue at noon.

Palatine will feature its fireworks as part of the Hometown Fest, running from July 2 to 6, with fireworks launching on July 3 at dusk from Community Park. Throughout the festival, attendees can enjoy games, food, drinks, and live music. A carnival will kick off at 1 p.m. on July 4.

Park Ridge is another destination where fireworks will be launched at dusk on July 3 at Maine East High School. Attendees can enjoy free admission with live entertainment starting at 6 p.m.

Romeoville will bring the excitement of three simultaneous firework shows at 9:30 p.m. on July 3. These displays will be launched from Volunteer Park, Lukancic Middle School, and Discovery Park, with choreographed music accompanying the fireworks, available on Star 96.7 FM Radio.

In Wheaton, the fireworks will take place at Graf Park at 9 p.m. on July 3, following a day filled with celebration that commences at 5:30 p.m. with food, music, games, and carnival rides. The next day will feature a parade in Downtown Wheaton.

Wilmette will celebrate with fireworks at dusk in Gillson Park on July 3, starting the fun and festivities with a gathering at 5 p.m. featuring music and vendors. Active participants can also join in on a 5K dash at 8 a.m. in the park and a Star Spangled Splash event at Centennial Park at 1 p.m.

On Friday, July 4, Antioch will host fireworks at dusk at Sequoit Creek Park, preceded by a parade at 10:30 a.m. in Downtown Antioch, along with various festivities starting at 4 p.m.

Bartlett is joining the festivities with a four-day-long celebration beginning on the southwest corner of Sterns Road and Bartlett Road. Fireworks are scheduled for July 4 at 9:15 p.m., with a parade planned for Saturday at 10 a.m.

Beecher’s 4th of July Festival will run from July 2 to 5 at Firemen’s Park, including food, music, raffles, and more. The day of the parade is set for 4 p.m., with fireworks launching at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

In Bensenville, fireworks will be a highlight of Libertyfest, starting with a parade at 10 a.m. on July 4 at 12 S. Center St. The evening will kick off at 6 p.m. with food, drinks, and music, leading up to the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Blue Island’s fireworks are scheduled for dusk on July 4 at Waterfall Park, complemented by vendors on site and a parade at noon running south from Prairie Street to Grove Street.

Bolingbrook’s fireworks at the Bolingbrook Golf Club will illuminate the night sky at dusk on July 4. There will be VIP viewing “pods” available, as well as remote viewing options provided at Eichelberger Elementary School and John F. Kennedy Middle School. The grounds will open at 3 p.m. for food, live entertainment, and more.

Buffalo Grove’s fireworks can be experienced at Willow Stream Park at 9 p.m. on July 4, following a free-admission concert by the Symphonic Band at 7 p.m.

Carol Stream invites attendees to catch their fireworks at the Town Center at 9:15 p.m. on July 4, featuring food concessions and a pre-show leading up to the fireworks.

In the City of Chicago, festivities are set to include a parade in Hyde Park, complete with marching bands, floats, and community groups, followed by a free festival that will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., offering music, games, face painting, and more.

DeKalb will begin fireworks approximately 30 minutes after sunset in Hopkins Park on July 4, with a day filled with activities beginning with an Independence Day Run at 8:30 a.m. Participants can also look forward to games, food, and entertainment throughout the day.

Downers Grove and Woodridge will unite for a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. near 75th Street and Lemont Road on July 4, with a picnic planned at 11 a.m. at Castaldo Park.

Elgin’s fireworks display will take place at dusk in Festival Park on July 4. Earlier in the day, festivities will begin with a parade and a pet parade at 9 a.m., complemented by concerts and activities for children leading up to the fireworks.

In Elk Grove Village, residents can head to Rotary Green for an evening full of fireworks, set for dusk on July 4. The excitement will begin at 8 p.m. with music and food already underway.

Evanston will set off fireworks over the lakefront at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, following morning games at six locations from 9 a.m., along with a fun run and a parade scheduled for 2 p.m. on Central Park Ave.

Frankfort’s fireworks are planned for 9:15 p.m. on July 4 in Main Park, following a 7 p.m. opening with DJ entertainment.

Glenview will host fireworks at Gallery Park at 9:20 p.m. on July 4, following musical entertainment and food starting at 6 p.m. There will also be a parade in the morning beginning at 11:20 a.m.

The Glen Ellyn fireworks display is scheduled for dusk at Lake Ellyn Park on July 4, coinciding with a noon parade in Downtown Glen Ellyn.

Itasca has announced that its 2025 fireworks show will be canceled.

Lake Forest will celebrate its 18th annual Festival and Fireworks at Deerpath Community Park on July 4, featuring a Taylor Swift tribute band followed by the fireworks show.

Lake Zurich’s fireworks will illuminate the night sky at Paulus Park at 9:15 p.m. on July 4, following a day filled with fun activities that begin at 10 a.m.

Libertyville will join in with a 9:30 p.m. fireworks display at Butler Lake on July 4, following a performance by the Village Band at 7:30 p.m.

Lincolnshire will host fireworks at Spring Lake Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, alongside a parade at 10 a.m. and an entire day of activities planned. On July 3, there will be celebratory events starting at 4 p.m. at North Park.

Lombard will present a fireworks display at Madison Meadow Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

Morton Grove will showcase fireworks at dusk on July 4 at Harrer Park/Civic Center. This is part of Morton Grove Days, running from July 3 to 6 and includes a parade at 2:30 p.m. on July 4, along with food and music throughout the weekend.

Mount Prospect will host fireworks at Melas Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, alongside four days of activities from July 2 to 6, featuring food, music, carnival rides, and a brief fireworks show on July 2 as well at 9:30 p.m.

Mundelein invites fireworks enthusiasts to the Village Center at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, offering several days of events from July 3 to 6 highlighting activities like face painting and a car show.

In Naperville, the fireworks will take place at Frontier Sports Complex at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, with the Naperville Municipal Band performing at 7:30 p.m. under the Wagner Pavilion.

New Lenox will host fireworks at 9:15 p.m. in the Village Commons on July 4, with live music scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Northbrook’s fireworks can be viewed from Meadow Hill Park and Techny Prairie Park and Fields on July 4, which will follow a full day of activities beginning with a Liberty Loop at 7:30 a.m. and a parade at 4 p.m.

North Riverside will showcase its fireworks at the Village Commons at dusk on July 4, preceded by a parade at 10 a.m. at 9th Avenue and 26th Street.

In Oak Lawn, fireworks are set to explode into the evening sky at Richards High School at dusk on July 4, with a parade kicking off at 4 p.m. on June 28, followed by free concerts and community activities on the village green.

Orland Park will celebrate with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 at Centennial Park West, alongside a 5 p.m. parade and a concert following shortly after at 5:30 p.m.

Oswego invites guests to witness fireworks at Prairie Point Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

Rockford has planned an All-Day Party at Prairies Street Brewing Co. on July 4, featuring live music, food, drinks, and yard games. The fireworks show will commence at 9:30 p.m.

Rosemont’s fireworks will be part of the Rockin’ in the Park series, taking place after the Silver Bullets concert on July 4. Both the concert and the fireworks will be free.

In Schaumburg, fireworks will follow the Schaumburg Boomers baseball game at Wintrust Field on July 4.

Skokie will present its fireworks at dusk on July 4 at Niles West High School, following a noon parade and Skokie’s Firework Festival, featuring live music and family activities beginning at 6:30 p.m.

St. Charles will provide fireworks at dark from Langum Park and Mt. St. Mary Park on July 4, with food and music offered throughout the day at both locations.

Tinley Park’s fireworks will provide a musical backdrop when they light up the skies on July 4 at McCarthy Park at 9:30 p.m. Activities including music, food, drinks, and a magic show will begin at 4 p.m.

Vernon Hills will host fireworks at Century Park at 9:15 p.m. on July 4, following a parade at 9 a.m. and music at 7 p.m.

Warrenville will feature activities in Cerny Park on July 3 and 4, culminating with fireworks set for 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

Westmont’s fireworks will light up the evening at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 at Ty Warner Park, following a day packed with activities, including a petting zoo and face tattoos.

Winnetka will also celebrate with fireworks, scheduled at Duke Child’s Field at 9:20 p.m. on July 4. A parade starting at 10 a.m. and morning music will accompany the day’s festivities, including a 5K run.

Yorkville’s fireworks will take center stage at dusk on July 4 from the corner of Route 47 and Countryside Parkway, with a parade scheduled for 9 a.m. starting at Yorkville High School.

On Saturday, July 5, the City of Chicago will host a special fireworks display at Navy Pier at 10 p.m., marking the conclusion of the Independence Day festivities in the region.

As the celebrations approach, communities encourage everyone to join in the fun and festivities, making this Independence Day a memorable occasion for all.
