Exciting Weekend Events Across Utah for Families and Friends

SALT LAKE CITY — This weekend, Utah is buzzing with a variety of events that cater to families and individuals alike, showcasing the rich culture and community of the Beehive State.

From art fairs to music festivals and patriotic ceremonies, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

In Cache County, the Summerfest Arts Faire will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Cache County Fairgrounds. The free event will feature over 160 artists displaying their work, alongside food vendors and live entertainment.

Just south in Iron County, the Cowboy Way of Life Festival is set for the same day from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Camp Floyd State Park. This family-friendly festival will offer cowboy-themed activities, food, music, and poetry. Admission is $5 per person or $15 for families.

Moving to Salt Lake County, there are multiple exciting happenings. WestFest will take place at Centennial Park on Saturday and Sunday, offering a free gathering that showcases cultural artisans, food, live performances, and more. Notably, the West Fest Parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m., departing from West Valley City Park and concluding at Centennial Park.

Another significant event is the SportsFest, which will be hosted at the University of Utah’s Fort Douglas Field on Saturday. This free event will include a walk or run, various community activities, and fun for participants of all ages.

For thrill-seekers, the Red Bull Soapbox Race will rev up excitement on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. near the State Capitol Building. Soapbox racing down Main Street promises a day filled with competitive spirit and entertainment.

Later in the day, from 3:00 p.m., the Heart & Soul Music Stroll in Imperial Park will feature live music and food trucks in a vibrant atmosphere, entirely free for attendees.

Additionally, the Criterium Bike Race & Community Expo at Salt Lake REAL Stadium from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. will be another highlight, offering a 5KM Challenge along with amateur races, food trucks, and live music, making for a fun-filled day for all.

The Chalk Art Festival at J. Lynn Crane Park & Plaza will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. This free event invites participants to channel their creativity into chalk art, accompanied by live music and festive activities. Chalk artist registration is set at $25.

In Utah County, a Flag Retirement Ceremony will take place at Provo Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This poignant event will see the dignified retirement of worn and tattered flags, organized by the Utah County Veterans Services, and is free to the public.

The Big Noise Music Festival will charm music lovers this Saturday from noon to midnight at Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse, featuring live bands, tasty food trucks, and games.

Finally, residents of Saratoga Springs can participate in the Splash Days celebration, kicking off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. This free parade will commence from the corner of 1200 North and 800 West, concluding at Westlake High School, with additional festivities including a car show, live entertainment, and carnival attractions. Parking will be available at Neptune Park and local schools and churches.
