Dallas Pride is gearing up for its 2025 celebration with a powerful theme: “Pride Is My Right.” This year’s two-day event is especially significant, as it takes place during a time when the LGBTQ community is facing increasing attacks on their rights from various levels of government across the nation, from local municipalities to the federal government.
In a written statement, the organizers expressed that the theme serves as a declaration against complacency concerning the ongoing challenges to LGBTQ+ rights. They highlighted the importance of visibility and community strength, asserting, “Dallas Pride 2025 is a call to action, an unwavering affirmation that Pride is not a privilege but an inherent right belonging to every individual.”
The statement further urges individuals to join together, amplify their voices, and declare emphatically, “Pride Is My Right!”
This year, the honor of serving as grand marshal goes to award-winning actor, writer, director, and producer RJAY, known for his active involvement in LGBTQ events throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Accompanying him as honorary grand marshal is Anthony Bowens, a star in AEW wrestling, recognized as “The Pride of Professional Wrestling” and a former AEW World Tag Team champion and AEW World Trios champion.
A special collaboration is in place for the festival this year, with representatives from Sally Beauty returning to partner with Free Mom Hugs for the second consecutive year. They will be distributing up to 1,000 gift cards and other goodies during the festival on Saturday, while supplies last.
In recognition of the founders of Pride, Sally Beauty will utilize its website and social media to highlight influential figures within the LGBTQ+ community, including XMOMDO founder Brad Mondo and Kaleidoscope founder Jesseca Dupart.
Dallas Pride will take place inside Fair Park, located at 3809 Grand Ave. Parking is accessible via Gate 2 and Gate 11. Public transportation is also available, with the DART Green Line stopping right at the front gate, offering light rail service from 6 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.
