To help you plan a fun-filled weekend, we’ve compiled a list of events taking place throughout the city.

On Saturday, the city will kick off its official **Juneteenth Anchorage Celebration**, a vibrant event occurring in anticipation of the holiday next Thursday.

Held at Delaney Park Strip, the festivities begin at 12 p.m. with a citywide parade, followed by a mix of music, food, and various vendors throughout the weekend. Notable highlights include a dance competition, a fashion show, and a performance by the HBCU Tribute Band after their recent camp.

On Sunday, the celebration will continue with a Miss Juneteenth pageant, interfaith programming, and a citywide choir performance, wrapping up at 6 p.m.

For those seeking excitement, the **2025 Dan Fowlie Memorial Rodeo** presents a thrilling lineup of events all weekend long.

Head to the William Clark Chamberlin Equestrian Center to witness athletes from across the nation competing in bull riding, barrel racing, and more. Junior events take place on Friday at 6 p.m., while the Alaska Champions Tour Rodeo will occur on Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available for $18, with free admission for kids 6 and under.

Another fantastic opportunity to support local talent is the **Made in Alaska Anchorage Summer Market** on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Egan Center.

This market features local artists and craftspeople, offering a variety of handmade goods, food items, and home decor perfect for gifts or personal indulgence.

Food lovers can also attend the **Taste of Spenard** on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. and enjoy signature dishes from neighborhood food trucks, all while being entertained by live music and other vendors at Chilkoot Charlie’s parking lot.
