As the warmth of summer approaches, beer enthusiasts have a perfect opportunity to engage with the local brewing scene at the upcoming Fishtown Beer Festival.
Scheduled for June 21 from noon to 4 p.m., the festival promises a day filled with craft beer tasting and community interaction.
Hosted by the Fishtown District in collaboration with Evil Genius Beer Co., the festival will transform Front Street into a lively celebration of Philadelphia’s rich beer culture.
More than 15 of the region’s top breweries will be on hand, offering attendees a chance to sample over 30 different beer selections.
The variety will include signature favorites, limited-edition rarities, and hidden gems from the craft brewing world.
Evil Genius co-founder Trevor Hayward expressed excitement for the event, stating, “Fishtown has always been home to creatives, makers, and beer lovers, so this festival feels like a natural next step.
We’re thrilled to bring the city’s best breweries together on our block and celebrate the community that’s supported us from the very start.
We have been wanting to do an event like this for several years, and it seemed like the perfect time to move forward.”
In addition to a wide array of beer, the Fishtown Beer Festival will feature DJ sets, outdoor lawn games, and food options from local vendors.
Tickets for the festival are priced at $45, which includes a souvenir commemorative glass and unlimited access to all beer offerings.
For those who opt for a designated driver, tickets are available for $10 each.
This event is strictly for individuals aged 21 and over, ensuring a mature environment for attendees to enjoy.
Evil Genius’ Taproom and Beer Garden will also be open throughout the festival, featuring seasonal selections and various food specials.
Guests can expect to encounter a selection of local favorites such as Philadelphia Brewing Co., Meyer’s Brewing Co., Lost Time Brewing Co., and Punch Buggy Brewing Co.
Highlighting regional talent, Two Locals Brewing Co. will represent West Philly, while Tired Hands Brewing Co., Wissahickon Brewing Co., Space Cadet Brewing Co., Our City Brewing Co., and Aston’s 2SP Brewing Co. will showcase brews from the greater Philadelphia area.
From the neighboring Northern Liberties, visitors can look forward to Urban Village Brewing Co. and Yards Brewing Co., while South Philadelphia will be represented by Cartesian Brewing Co. and Dock Street Brewing Co.
Evil Genius co-founder Luke Bowen emphasized the festival’s significance, stating, “This isn’t just a beer fest.
It’s our love letter to Philly’s brewing scene and to the neighborhood that helped make craft beer in this city what it is today.
Fishtown has become one of the top beer destinations in the country.
We’re proud to showcase local breweries while welcoming visitors to our neighborhood for a one-of-a-kind celebration.”
The Fishtown Beer Festival will feature an exciting lineup of beers that cater to all tastes.
Those who prefer fruit-forward flavors can sample options like Wissahickon’s Frux PPG, a fruited sour infused with pineapple, pink grapefruit, and guava, or the Raspberry Hibiscus Berliner Weiss from Dock Street.
Hop enthusiasts will delight in selections like Lost Time’s Hazy Concept IPA and Evil Genius’ new Hazy IPA, 867-5309.
Traditional lagers will also make an appearance, including Sunny Boy from Urban Village and the Bohemian Pilsner from Dock Street.
As attendees sip on their craft beers, a DJ will provide music to enhance the atmosphere throughout the festival.
Food options will be available from Evil Genius’ kitchen, featuring tasty items such as pickle hoagies, walking tacos, pretzels, and more to curb any hunger pangs.
Guests can also engage in various lawn games and other surprises planned for the day.
