U.S. Launches Major Airstrike on Iranian Nuclear Facilities; Cities Heightened Security

In an unprecedented escalation of military action, President Donald Trump confirmed that U.S. forces have conducted a significant airstrike targeting three primary Iranian nuclear sites: Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

Following the announcement, several major American cities, including New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, have been placed on high alert.

Local authorities in these cities swiftly ramped up security measures around Jewish institutions, embassies, and religious centers, advising residents to remain vigilant despite the absence of specific threats.

“Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace,” President Trump stated in a dramatic declaration.

To ensure public safety, both the NYPD and the police in Washington, D.C., announced they were closely monitoring the situation in Iran.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we’re deploying additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC,” stated the NYPD on X.

Washington, D.C.’s police force has assured residents that they are “coordinating with local, state, and federal partners,” also noting that there are currently no credible threats.

In Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass confirmed that the LAPD is increasing patrols and emphasized, “There are no known credible threats at this time… We will remain vigilant in protecting our communities.”

The military operation on Saturday targeted three major Iranian nuclear facilities that have been pivotal in Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

**Details of the Airstrike**

The three targeted facilities are:

1. **Natanz**: Located 220 km southeast of Tehran, Natanz is recognized as Iran’s primary uranium enrichment site. Earlier Israeli strikes had already inflicted damage on the centrifuges at this location.

2. **Fordow**: This heavily fortified site lies beneath a mountain near Qom. President Trump confirmed that a “full payload of bombs” was dropped on this facility, and he later reiterated that “Fordow is gone.” Reports indicate that the U.S. deployed six GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators during the assault, the most powerful non-nuclear bombs in the U.S. arsenal.

3. **Isfahan**: Situated southeast of Tehran, Isfahan hosts three Chinese research reactors and various nuclear laboratories, which were also impacted in the offensive.

**Aircraft Used in the Operation**

The B-2 Spirit stealth bombers executed the operation, completing a non-stop journey of over 6,000 nautical miles from Missouri.

These aircraft are designed to evade enemy defenses and are the only ones in the U.S. fleet capable of carrying the Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs.

Military sources confirmed that multiple B-2s launched from Missouri and refueled mid-air during their mission to and from Iran.

**Radiation Concerns Addressed**

Despite the extent of the attack, Iranian authorities reported on Sunday that there was no evidence of radioactive contamination.

The country’s National Nuclear Safety System confirmed the absence of radiation leaks at any of the impacted sites, information corroborated by Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, which acknowledged that enemy strikes had occurred.

**Urban Security Measures**

Paul Mauro, a former inspector with the NYPD, shared insights on Fox News regarding the proactive security strategies being deployed in American cities to maintain public safety.

Mauro explained that the NYPD will increase special attention patrols at locations connected to Israeli or Shia communities while also engaging with these neighborhoods and increasing visibility in front of houses of worship.

Additionally, the NYPD’s cyber counterterrorism unit has been put on heightened alert, monitoring online communications for any signs of potential threats.

**President Trump’s Warning**

President Trump concluded his statement with a stern warning to Tehran, asserting that there would be either peace or tragedy for Iran.

He clarified that all U.S. planes have safely exited Iranian airspace and declared the operation a “spectacular success.”

While he emphasized that the U.S. does not seek regime change in Iran, Trump affirmed that America will continue to act “with precision, speed, and skill” as necessary.

As the situation evolves, the readiness of American cities remains a top priority amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
