WTA Ventures and Tennis Channel Sign Six-Year Media Rights Deal for Women’s Tennis

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. & LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A significant new agreement has been reached between WTA Ventures and Tennis Channel, ensuring that Tennis Channel platforms will remain the exclusive home for WTA tennis in the United States until 2032.

This six-year media rights deal promises to bring the excitement and entertainment of the Hologic WTA Tour to tennis fans across the country, available through various Tennis Channel platforms, including its streaming network TennisChannel 2, its mobile app, and the official website, TennisChannel.com.

The deal encompasses all WTA 1000, 500, and 250 events, excluding tournaments held within the United States, extending through to the much-anticipated season-closing WTA Finals, which sees the top singles players and doubles teams competing for the year-end championship.

WTA Ventures and Tennis Channel plan to collaborate closely to enhance and innovate the coverage of women’s tennis, aiming to engage fans and promote the sport to new audiences. These efforts will build upon the launch of the WTA’s new brand identity and the remarkable growth of women’s tennis in the U.S.

Live WTA viewership on Tennis Channel is exhibiting strong growth, with an increase noted in 2025 following a similar rise in 2024. This positive trajectory is particularly pronounced among younger demographics, with live WTA viewership among 18-34 year-olds climbing annually since 2023.

The visibility of women’s tennis has been further amplified with the presence of four U.S. players currently ranked in the Top 10 of the PIF WTA Singles Rankings. Notable among them is Coco Gauff, who was crowned the 2024 WTA Finals champion in Riyadh. Tennis Channel has promoted women’s tennis through its Women’s Day programming, introduced in June 2024, designating every Tuesday for exclusive coverage of women’s competitions on the widely accessible TennisChannel 2 platform.

Under the new agreement, Tennis Channel commits to increasing coverage parity between the women’s and men’s tours while expanding its distribution across digital and streaming platforms. This strategic growth is being spearheaded by its new Chairman and CEO Jeff Blackburn.

Marina Storti, CEO of WTA Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that the U.S. is a crucial market for the WTA. She remarked, “We are excited to be partnering with Tennis Channel to bring six more seasons of brilliant tennis to fans across all its platforms. Tennis Channel has shown a strong commitment to the WTA through this agreement, and we have a shared ambition to continue to deepen audience engagement and grow the impact of women’s tennis.”

Storti added that securing a multi-year investment from a strategic partner marks a significant milestone for WTA Ventures in its effort to enhance the commercial value of women’s tennis.

Jeff Blackburn echoed this sentiment, stating, “The WTA has been an important part of Tennis Channel since our first days on air. We couldn’t be happier to extend this partnership into the next decade. Women’s tennis is one of the most thrilling products in sports and the tour has never been stronger than it is right now.”

He expressed anticipation toward developing innovative strategies to attract and entertain new fans and to continue building on the existing momentum with Storti and her team.

IMG acted as an advisor to WTA Ventures during the deal process.
