Celebrating the Best Workplaces: Top Workplaces in New York City 2025

To truly understand what occurs within an organization, it’s essential to consult those who operate at its core—the employees on the front lines.

This concept underpins the prestigious Top Workplaces award, which honors exceptional companies within New York City based on genuine employee feedback.

For the fifth consecutive year, employee survey organization Energage has combined efforts with Schneps Media to identify and celebrate these outstanding workplaces.

What sets this award apart is its emphasis on earned recognition rather than purchased accolades.

The winners arise from a detailed survey process intended to capture authentic employee sentiments.

A significant metric for recognition is positive employee feedback, which translates into recognition for a workplace, while organizations lacking strong feedback do not make the winners’ list.

Through a streamlined 25-question survey, which requires just a few minutes of employees’ time, Energage gathers insights on various factors, including compensation, benefits, leadership, and workplace appreciation.

Based on this feedback, scores are assigned to each organization.

Notably, employers do not pay any fees to have their employees surveyed or to be considered for the Top Workplaces designation.

However, companies have the option to purchase their survey data.

For 2025, out of 5,894 organizations invited to survey their employees, only 70 opted to participate, out of which 48 received recognition as Top Workplaces in New York City.

“Top Workplaces awards celebrate meaningful workplace cultures,” noted Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage.

“The award underscores the importance of prioritizing employees, who are fundamental to the vitality of any successful organization.”

To qualify for the Top Workplaces award, companies must employ a minimum of 50 workers in the five boroughs and achieve at least a 35% employee response rate for the results to be valid.

Employers with fewer than 85 employees face more stringent requirements, necessitating feedback from at least 30 employees.

Organizations that achieve an aggregated feedback score surpassing national benchmarks are awarded the Top Workplaces recognition.

Companies are categorized based on size, allowing for a true comparison of employee experiences.

Energage has derived these benchmarks from feedback from approximately 30 million employees over nearly two decades.

A company may not appear on the winners’ list for various reasons, such as choosing not to participate in the survey or receiving insufficient positive feedback.

Additionally, Energage conducts tests on the submitted feedback and may disqualify organizations if employees express undue pressure to respond positively.
