Philippine Airlines Expands Seattle Operations with New Direct Flights from Manila

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is enhancing its service to the US West Coast by increasing its direct flights from Manila to Seattle.

Starting from November 25, 2025, the airline will raise its weekly flights on this route from three to five.

This decision is indicative of the growing travel demand to and from Seattle, Washington, as well as access to other significant destinations in the United States.

PAL’s strategy to boost its operations in the US reflects its emphasis on catering to the needs of travelers seeking to connect between the Philippines and North America.

Seattle serves as a vital gateway, not only to Washington and Oregon, but also to various cities across the country, amplifying the importance of this expansion.

To optimize this increased capacity, Philippine Airlines continues its partnership with Alaska Airlines.

This collaboration provides travelers with straightforward connections to numerous additional cities in the US, enhancing the overall travel experience for both vacationers and business passengers.

Increasing Flight Capacity and Passenger Comfort

In order to handle the anticipated rise in traveler numbers, PAL will operate its modern Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Manila-Seattle route.

With a seating capacity for up to 370 passengers, this aircraft ensures ample room for travelers while upholding high comfort standards.

The Boeing 777-300ER’s advanced features and amenities promise a superior travel experience for individuals journeying between the Philippines and the US.

In addition to accommodating more passengers, the increased flight frequency will significantly enhance PAL’s cargo capacity.

The new flights are expected to contribute an additional 40 tons of cargo capacity per week, aligning with the growing trade dynamics between the US and the Philippines.

This increase in cargo space is particularly beneficial for sectors such as electronics, apparel, and agricultural products—key exports linking both nations.

Strengthening Connections in the US

While Seattle is a primary focus, Philippine Airlines also maintains nonstop service to other major US cities, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Guam.

These routes collectively aim to expand PAL’s reach and address the travel needs of Filipino expatriates, business travelers, and tourists alike.

The added flights to Seattle are strategically positioned to provide more options and flexibility for travelers seeking reliable connections to popular destinations across the United States.

Support for Trade and Tourism

As PAL continues to increase its flight offerings to Seattle, the airline plays a crucial role in fostering stronger trade and tourism connections between the Philippines and the US.

Enhanced air travel capacity enhances the flow of goods and services, fostering business relationships and cultural exchanges that benefit both markets.

This expanded cargo capability will facilitate the transfer of goods, further enhancing trade flows and supporting economic growth on both sides of the Pacific.

A Long-Term Vision for Growth

PAL’s expansion on the Manila-Seattle route is part of a broader long-term growth plan, which seeks to diversify and broaden its international network.

By increasing flight frequencies on this critical route, the airline aims to maintain competitive operations on the US West Coast, a key region for international travel.

This initiative reflects PAL’s commitment to recovery in the post-pandemic environment, focusing on rebuilding its route network while offering elevated services that meet passengers’ changing needs.

The announcement of Philippine Airlines’ expanded services to Seattle signifies a pivotal milestone for the airline as well as its travelers.

With increased flight options, enhanced cargo capacity, and improved connectivity, PAL is poised to solidify its presence on the US West Coast.

This expansion not only supports economic growth but also enhances cross-Pacific travel opportunities for passengers, reaffirming Philippine Airlines’ status as a leading international carrier in the region.

As the airline continues its growth trajectory, travelers can expect improved connectivity between the Philippines and the United States, further bolstering PAL’s role in facilitating cross-Pacific travel and commerce.
