A new tavern inspired by the heart of Appalachia and the flavors of Italian American cuisine is making its debut in Clarendon. Nettie’s Tavern is poised to open on Monday, August 11, in what was once part of the well-loved Whitlow’s space. Named after a cherished family friend of restaurateur Reese Gardner, the tavern pays tribute to Nettie, a remarkable woman from West Virginia whom Gardner met six years ago.
Nettie, who passed away four years ago, is remembered fondly in the cozy atmosphere of the new eatery, where Gardner aims to capture her spirited essence and culinary roots.
