Kim Dankulich Inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit at Fort Detrick

FORT DETRICK, Md. — Kim Dankulich, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience at the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency, has been honored for her exceptional contributions to the field.

On July 17, during a ceremony at Fort Detrick, USAMMA leaders recognized Dankulich’s leadership and strategic expertise in medical materiel by inducting her into the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).

USAMMA Commander Joselito “Joe” Lim praised Dankulich’s pivotal role in making USAMMA a leading institution within the MEDLOG enterprise, noting, “When you talk about Army Prepositioned Stocks medical anywhere in the world, I’ve always heard her name. She was the glue, if you will, along with her great teammates to make USAMMA the mecca for MEDLOG enterprise.”

Since November 2020, Dankulich has been serving as the deputy director at USAMMA’s Force Projection Directorate. In this capacity, she has provided unwavering support to global medical materiel programs, managing an impressive $1.2 billion in materiel requirements while saving over $500 million through improved processes.

Her nomination for the O2M3 highlighted her development of the care of supplies in storage (COSIS) plan for two 240-bed Army hospitals and significant contributions to global exercises and operations.

“Mrs. Dankulich’s unwavering commitment to the medical logistics enterprise directly enhances readiness and ensures that our warfighters receive the medical materiel support they need — anytime, anywhere,” remarked USAMMA Sgt. Maj. Todd Brenecki.

Brenecki added that her leadership and vision have fortified global supply chains, enabling strategic sustainment while enhancing the Army’s capacity to deliver life-saving capabilities across diverse operational domains.

Notably, among her many contributions, Dankulich has adeptly assisted multiple combatant commands with Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS) expansions, including the extension of APS-2 from Germany to new locations in Belgium and Poland. She is also involved in the outfitting and transition of a new APS-5 warehouse set to open in Kuwait in early 2024.

Dankulich expressed her surprise at receiving the honor, quickly attributing her success to her team.

“This is not for me; this is for my team,” she stated. “You guys make it happen every single day. I truly appreciate it and it’s because of the work of our team, not just me.”

Membership in the O2M3 is a prestigious recognition that signifies distinguished service acknowledged by senior leadership in the Army Medical Department. Members receive a sterling silver medallion and a maroon ribbon as part of the honor.

Founded in 1982 by the commanding general of the U.S. Army Health Services Command, the O2M3 recognizes excellence while promoting camaraderie and morale among Army Medical Department personnel.

According to the U.S. Army Medical Department Center of History and Heritage, individuals granted O2M3 membership have clearly demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character while contributing to the advancement of Army Medicine for a minimum of 15 years with selflessness.

USAMMA operates as a direct reporting unit to the Army Medical Logistics Command.
