A couple residing in a suburb of Atlanta is encountering significant backlash after being accused of hurling antisemitic slurs at David Lubin, the father of an Israeli soldier killed in 2023.
Mark Bouzyk has been dismissed from his position following the incident, which involved him and his wife verbally assaulting Lubin during a confrontation that was recorded.
The altercation occurred earlier this month as Lubin was distributing stickers in memory of his daughter, Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, a lone soldier who tragically lost her life after being stabbed by a 16-year-old Palestinian boy in Jerusalem on November 6, 2023.
In a statement to Atlanta News First, Lubin recounted his experience: “When I heard her say, ‘your daughter deserved to die’ and called me a kike, that’s when I walked across the street.”
Footage of the confrontation was shared on X by the watchdog group Stop Antisemitism.
In the video, Anna Bouzyk can be heard accusing Lubin’s daughter of going to Israel “to kill.”
She is quoted saying, “You are calling yourself a kike, you know what you are. You know what you are better than me.”
Mark Bouzyk joined in the insults, branding Lubin a “corrupt politician” with a daughter in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
Anna Bouzyk alleged that her comments were a response to being provoked by Lubin, accusing him of capturing the encounter on video without her consent: “He started calling me a Jew hater. He started calling me names, so I called him a kike.”
She expressed no remorse for her comment and even stated, “I don’t regret what I said, and I’ll say it a million times again.”
Lubin expressed that he perceived the vitriol in Bouzyk’s remarks as echoing the hateful sentiments that fueled the Holocaust, and he is contemplating involving law enforcement in the matter.
This incident is reportedly part of a larger conflict between the Bouzyks and Lubin.
Tensions date back to last year when the Bouzyks allegedly displayed pro-Palestinian signs on their property, including one with the offensive term “kikes” repeated 24 times.
Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch has publicly condemned this behavior, describing the pro-Palestinian signs as “deeply disturbing and offensive.”
In a follow-up to her initial condemnation, she thanked a local resident for their efforts in convincing the Bouzyks to remove the signs.
On October 12, 2023, Bouzyk was terminated from his role as co-founder and chief scientific officer at AllaiHealth, a company focusing on AI-driven patient medical history.
The company’s CEO, Robert Boisjoli, issued a statement denouncing Bouzyk’s behavior: “We are deeply disturbed and disheartened by the video circulating involving Dr. Mark Bouzyk.
The behavior displayed in that footage is reprehensible, completely inconsistent with our values, and has no place in our organization or society.”
