In ‘Sell Out,’ viewers meet Benny Dink, portrayed by Nick Ashy Holden, who is navigating a turbulent phase in his life, although he does not intend to compromise his artistic values.

Benny is a successful crime novelist currently trying to tackle a new project based on a politically charged historical event—the 1991 Louisiana gubernatorial election that saw the rise of the openly racist David Duke.

His complex family history, including relatives who may have supported Duke, serves as one of the driving forces behind Benny’s decision to move to Austin and distance himself from Louisiana’s past.

As the narrative unfolds, Benny faces the messiness of his professional and personal life; his career appears to be stalling, and his romantic relationship is crumbling.
