Zac Brown Expands Residency at Sphere; Celine Dion Collaborates with DJ Ingrosso

Zac Brown is making headlines again with his upcoming performances at Sphere, initially dubbed a “residency.” The shows, however, are now labeled as “limited engagement,” though Brown is gradually inching towards a full residency experience.

Recently, he announced that two additional dates—January 9 and 10—have been added to his original performances taking place from December 5 to 13 under the theme “Love & Fear.” This announcement came just a day before tickets officially went on sale.

During an appearance on “Andy Cohen Live,” Brown expressed his excitement, comparing the show’s production to Pink Floyd’s legendary “The Wall.” With such high expectations, Brown seems determined to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Cohen, who often visits the venue, shared his own excitement, reminiscing about enjoying concerts at Sphere, even mentioning his multiple experiences watching Dead & Company.

In response, Brown conveyed his awe towards the venue’s design and functionality, stating, “But we’ve got a lot to prove, so for me, this has been my absolute obsession and my baby.”

In another corner of the music world, Swedish DJ and producer Sebastian Ingrosso has given Celine Dion’s classic “A New Day” a fresh twist. Released on Friday, the new version features Dion herself, dancing and enjoying the beats in a clip circulating on social media.

Filmed in The Studio at the Palms, where Dion has frequently recorded, the clip showcases her groove in a relaxed workout outfit. Over the years, this studio has been home to renowned artists such as Beyonce, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Eminem, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Jamie Foxx, who have all left their mark by signing the wall inside.

Ingrosso’s rendition marks his debut solo release under the Swedish House Mafia’s Superhuman label and is receiving acclaim within the EDM community. Notable figures like David Guetta, Anyma, and Calvin Harris have showered praise on Ingrosso’s social media post, reflecting the buzz surrounding this innovative track.

The title “A New Day Has Come” references Dion’s 2002 hit, which served as the inspiration for her initial residency at the Colosseum. Ingrosso expressed gratitude towards Dion for allowing him to reinterpret the song, stating on social media, “THANK YOU @celinedion FOR LETTING ME BRING THIS INTO A NEW SHAPE.” Fans can find the new track on all streaming platforms while enjoying Dion’s dance moves on Instagram.

In a separate narrative, the Las Vegas music scene remembers its legendary figure, Ozzy Osbourne, following his passing at the age of 76. Frank Sidoris, Vegas rocker and guitarist for Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH, shared an extraordinary experience that he kept under wraps for eight years.

Sidoris auditioned for Osbourne in 2017, shortly after the iconic artist had performed with Black Sabbath. He recalled arriving at Osbourne’s impressive Los Angeles residence with an elaborate stage setup, ready to perform in a private setting.

Recalling the moment, Sidoris described, “We take the elevator downstairs to Ozzy’s movie theater, I set up my gear, got comfortable, and just two minutes later, Ozzy shows up in his pajamas.” He had the unique opportunity to perform songs like “Mama I’m Coming Home” and “Diary of a Madman” for Osbourne and his assistant.

Within a month, Sidoris received a signed letter from Osbourne, who informed him that he would be touring with Zakk Wylde instead. Despite this news, Osbourne’s encouragement resonated with Sidoris, emphasizing his talent and future success.

Now, post-Ozzy’s passing, Sidoris reflected on the experience saying, “Everyone’s sharing their story about Ozzy and how much we love him and what he meant to us, and that’s my experience.”

Meanwhile, a shift is occurring at Circus Circus Las Vegas as a new haunted attraction emerges. The former Fear Dome has officially transformed into Fear Zone, aiming to create a more expansive vision.

This rebranding was announced about a month ago, and operators believe it better encapsulates the direction they are taking with the attraction. Fear Zone previously operated under the name Fright Dome between 2003 and 2017.

The original attraction producer, Jason Egan, who has been protective of the brand, noted the importance of safeguarding the identity he built over years, stating, “We’ve spent a fortune and so many years creating that brand and the intellectual property that goes with it.”

Unbeknownst to Egan, the name change occurred, but he continues to thrive with his partnership in the John Wick Experience at Area15, which has been a remarkable success.

In social happenings, Bohemian Groove is bringing funk and disco to the Arts District with their performances every Saturday night at Doberman Drawing Room. The show runs from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., emphasizing rare grooves and creative cocktails.

They also host performances every First Friday of the month, and reservations are highly recommended for those looking to join the fun. For more information, potential attendees can visit DobermanDTLV.com.
