This week, a significant concern emerged for local farmers and families relying on a community garden near the Tijuana River.
Jim Hinch, a reporter for Voice of San Diego, followed up on a tip indicating that over a dozen gardeners received eviction letters from the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County, which manages the garden.
The eviction letters threatened to uproot 217 individuals who utilize the space for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers.
For many of these community members, the garden represents not only a source of food but also the foundation of their livelihoods.
