Dario Sanchez, a 32-year-old teacher from Dallas, was rearrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in a July 4 shooting incident linked to an Alvarado detention center, but he was released again on bond on Wednesday.
Sanchez’s lawyer, Frank Sellers, claims that his client was wrongfully accused of violating bond conditions after monitoring software flagged his internet search history.
This arrest marks Sanchez’s third on the same charge of tampering or fabricating with evidence. His initial allegations stem from claims that he deleted texts from the Signal and Discord messaging apps related to the July 4 incident.
Originally set at $1 million, Sanchez’s bond was reduced to $150,000 following a court hearing on Wednesday.
Sellers strongly defends his client, declaring, “This case is not a good case for the state. Dario is innocent. He did nothing wrong, and he certainly did nothing wrong in Johnson County, a place he’s never been before.”
