Celebration of New Parks at Denargo Market Set for September 4th

Denver residents are invited to join the community block party to celebrate the opening of over four acres of new public parks and open space at Denargo Market on Thursday, September 4, from 4–8 p.m.

This festive evening will feature live musical performances by Rootbeer Richie & The Reveille, Velvet Daydream, and a DJ set by Something Vinyl Club.

Local artists and makers will showcase their work in a market area, while food trucks and curated pop-up bars from Drink Denver will provide refreshments.

Proceeds from the bars will support Denver Urban Gardens, which plans to introduce a new community garden at Denargo Market, enhancing the experience for residents.

Located along the South Platte River to the north of downtown Denver, this new public space transforms a previously vacant area into a vibrant destination centered on community gathering and year-round activities.

With the completion of parks, plazas, play areas, and riverfront spaces, this opening marks a significant milestone for the community, allowing the public to fully explore the site for the first time.

A standout feature of the area is Rhingo, a striking 30-foot-tall climbable steel rhino sculpture, which was named by the community earlier this summer.

Newly constructed sidewalks and protected bike lanes will offer pedestrians and cyclists improved access and connectivity with downtown Denver.

Laura Newman, vice president of investment & development at Golub & Company, emphasized the importance of this public realm: “Delivering this public realm first reflects our commitment to creating spaces that connect people to the riverfront and to each other, in a pocket of the city that has historically lacked open and green space.

We’re thrilled to open these parks and plazas for everyone to enjoy and can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by filling them with music, food and community.”

The block party will also officially unveil various amenities, including an interactive art installation with Rhingo, a nature-based playground, a fire pit, and a pop-jet fountain, along with a half-acre green lawn for relaxation and recreation.

Guests can indulge in food and drinks from a variety of culinary options, including Bandwagon Sandwich Co., HipPOPs Handcrafted Gelato Bars, Ninja Ramen Mobile, Shuck Brothers, and Uptown & Humboldt.

In addition to food, attendees will also have the chance to shop local goods from a wide array of vendors, such as Ariana Barnstable’s “Lazy Cowgirl Series,” B Fresh Gear, Baby Jess Art, Big Ass Maps, Caddy Flip Games, and numerous others.

Sean Campbell, CEO of Formativ, spoke about the significance of the event: “This is exactly the kind of moment we envisioned when we set out to build Denargo Market’s public realm.

The block party is a celebration of Denver’s creativity, energy and community spirit, and the first of many experiences people can expect at Denargo Market.

This is only the beginning.”

Spanning 17 acres along the South Platte River in the RiNo Art District, the redevelopment of Denargo Market is set to deliver over 3 million square feet of mixed-use space, including residential, office, retail, and hospitality areas, all linked by cutting-edge public amenities.
