As summer unfolds in Miami-Dade, The Children’s Trust is diligently working to create memorable experiences for families.
The community is eagerly anticipating the return of The Children’s Trust Family Expo, Miami-Dade’s largest free family resource event, set for Saturday, August 2.
Taking place at the Fuchs Pavilion in the Miami-Dade Fair & Exposition, this year’s expo promises a day filled with fun, educational resources, and preparation for the upcoming school year.
Families can collect free school supplies for students of all ages—elementary, middle, and high school—while supplies last.
Items such as backpacks, pencils, pens, folders, and notebooks will be available for distribution.
In addition to these essential supplies, The Trust’s networks of providers and partners will add to the excitement with more giveaways and surprises.
However, the Family Expo offers more than just supplies; it promises an array of entertaining activities.
Children and youth can enjoy a Kid Zone featuring face painting, balloon artistry, airbrush tattoos, arts and crafts, and special character appearances and performances.
A photo booth will also be available, alongside food trucks offering delicious options.
There will be performances throughout the day on an indoor stage, ensuring that fun never stops.
Furthermore, the Mobile Units will be present to provide students and families with vaccinations, physicals, and on-site dental care services as they prepare for the new school year.
As kids delight in their new backpacks and enjoy the games and activities, parents and caregivers will have the chance to learn about the many valuable resources available through The Children’s Trust and its widespread network of partner organizations.
Local agencies will showcase programs for after-school care, health services, and support for children with special needs, proving that there are remarkable low-cost and free services available within the community.
To facilitate attendance, The Children’s Trust has collaborated with Uber to provide $15 vouchers for transportation to and from the expo.

The excitement doesn’t end with the Family Expo; The Children’s Trust is also enhancing summer experiences for parents with the launch of the Parent Club Pass.
This innovative initiative is designed to reward parents, caregivers, and busy families who invest time in learning and connecting through complimentary parenting workshops offered throughout the county.
The Parent Club Pass can be earned by attending three different workshops, which are welcoming, free sessions available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
These workshops address real-life parenting issues for all ages—ranging from toddlers to teenagers—and many sessions offer amenities such as free child care, snacks, and raffle prizes.
For added convenience, virtual workshops are also available to accommodate busy schedules.
After attending three workshops and completing brief feedback surveys, participants will receive a Parent Club Pass, which grants access to various free, family-friendly activities such as movie nights, sports events, and visits to local museums and parks.
This initiative recognizes that parenting is a demanding yet essential role, providing additional opportunities for families to bond and enjoy quality time together.
Parents can sign up for workshops and discover more about the Parent Club Pass at TheChildrensTrust.org/ParentClub.
Between the return of the Family Expo and the introduction of the Parent Club Pass, The Children’s Trust is committed to enriching the summer experience for Miami-Dade families at no cost, maximizing both fun and learning opportunities.
These initiatives empower parents with valuable tools and resources, ensuring that families can make the most of their summer season.
