Teens Bring Shakespeare to Life in Junior Players’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream

In an energetic rehearsal space at East Dallas Christian Church, a group of teenagers is embracing the whimsical world of Shakespeare’s classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

As part of Junior Players, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth arts education in North Texas, these young actors, aged 14 to 18, are immersed in the magical and complicated narratives of the play.

Director Kyle Lemieux, who normally teaches drama at the University of Dallas during the school year, is leading these teens through the intricacies of this beloved comedy.

He emphasizes the importance of creating muscle memory as they explore Act 3.

“Alright, so let’s start on page 28. Let’s run that sequence,” Lemieux instructs, guiding the actors as they rehearses scenes that involve preparation for a play within the play,
