Hamperapp Becomes First Miami Company Accepted into Morgan Stanley’s Accelerator Program

Miami is once again making strides in the technology sector with Hamperapp, an innovative laundry pickup and delivery platform, achieving a remarkable milestone.

The company has secured a spot in the prestigious Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures (MSISV) program, making it the first business from the Miami area to be accepted into this five-month accelerator.

This program, which commenced recently, offers participating startups mentorship and a substantial investment of $250,000.

Hamperapp was chosen from thousands of applicants across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, standing out among 33 selected early-stage innovators for the 2025 cycle.

The acceptance into the MSISV program highlights Hamperapp’s potential to provide scalable solutions to contemporary business and societal challenges, as expressed by Jessica Alsford, Morgan Stanley’s Chief Sustainability Officer.

Founded in 2017 by Alejandro Chang, Hamperapp initially aimed to help a family laundry business reach a broader clientele through online services.

Today, the platform has grown significantly, partnering with approximately 60 laundries in 12 states, while facilitating over $3 million in transactions last year, according to co-founder and CEO Jorge Rodriguez.

Rodriguez first learned about the MSISV program during a panel discussion at the South by Southwest tech and cultural festival and later connected with a program representative at the eMerge Americas tech conference in Miami Beach.

Being accepted into this program signifies much more than just a financial boost.

Rodriguez noted, “This will give us lots of exposure. We’ll be going to New York two to three days a month for the accelerator program, and we’ll have access to Morgan Stanley’s team to help us connect with their network.”

The program culminates in February with a demo day, where Hamperapp will present its solutions to more than 400 potential investors.

In addition to this milestone, Hamperapp participated in Northeastern University’s Miami Innovation Academy in 2024, which provided workshops and mentorship to help enhance their venture.

Moreover, the company demonstrated its competitive edge by advancing to the top 25 in the eMerge pitch competition in 2023.

Morgan Stanley’s MSISV initiative builds upon previous programs, including its Inclusive Ventures Group and Sustainable Solutions Collaborative, which have collectively invested over $30 million in more than 130 startups over the past eight years.

To date, Hamperapp has primarily relied on bootstrapped funding, raising around $500,000 from personal networks.

Rodriguez has confirmed that the company is already profitable and is poised for growth with the additional investment from Morgan Stanley.

The funds will be allocated to expanding their network of partners, aiming to include around 2,000 laundries and dry cleaners currently on their waiting list.

Hamperapp is also looking to increase its workforce, setting the stage for further expansion.

Future plans may involve broadening their service offerings to incorporate related cleaning services, including rugs, shoes, and sneakers, according to Chief Growth Officer Chang.

Rodriguez emphasized the company’s mission is to create a marketplace that empowers laundromats with underutilized capacity to enhance connections with customers.
