Asher Hong Leads Strong Performances at 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships

In a remarkable display of athleticism and skill, Asher Hong of Tomball, Texas, claimed the senior all-around title at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in New Orleans on August 9, 2025, marking a standout finish to the men’s events.

Hong demonstrated his dominance throughout the competition, earning an impressive combined score of 170.020, which illustrated his nearly eight-point lead over the closest contender.

In addition to his all-around success, Hong showcased his prowess on individual apparatuses, winning gold medals on vault (29.594), floor exercise (30.016), and still rings (29.286).

He also secured a silver medal on parallel bars with a score of 28.100, further underscoring his exceptional performance.

Frederick Richard from Stoughton, Massachusetts, mounted a strong challenge and ultimately finished second in the all-around with a score of 162.555.

Third place went to Fuzzy Benas of Richmond, Texas, who concluded the competition with a score of 162.310, completing the podium.

During the final day of competition, other athletes also made their mark.

Patrick Hoopes from Lehi, Utah, triumphed on pommel horse, achieving a score of 31.300, while Brody Malone from Aragon, Georgia, claimed the title on parallel bars with a score of 28.150.

Taylor Burkhart, hailing from Arvada, Colorado, capped off the day by winning the horizontal bar title with a score of 28.960.

Following the conclusion of the championships, the Senior National and World Championships Teams were announced.

This year’s Senior Men’s World Championships Team, which will compete from October 19 to 25 in Jakarta, Indonesia, features a strong lineup, including the standout Asher Hong.

Other team members include Taylor Burkhart, Brandon Dang from San Jose, California, Patrick Hoopes, Brody Malone, and Kameron Nelson from Columbus, Ohio, along with Donnell Whittenburg from Baltimore, Maryland.

In the Junior Men’s category, the World Championships Team is set to compete from November 20 to 24 in Manila, the Philippines.

The squad comprises Maksim Kan from Muskego, Wisconsin, Danila Leykin from Sarasota, Florida, Dante Reive from West Point, New York, Nathan Roman from Poway, California, and Hunter Simpson from Palmetto, Florida.

The Senior Men’s National Team also includes notable athletes such as Fuzzy Benas, Crew Bold from Delray Beach, Florida, Jun Iwai from Lewisville, Texas, and Riley Loos from El Dorado Hills, California.

The Development Team features emerging talent like Sasha Bogonosiuk from Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and Danila Leykin.

In addition, the Junior Men’s National Team is filled with promising gymnasts from across the country, showcasing the future of American gymnastics.

As the focus turns to the upcoming women’s competition, set to conclude the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, gymnastics enthusiasts are eager to see who will secure spots on the Junior and Senior Women’s National Teams and claim national titles.
