Lollapalooza 2023: What You Need to Know Ahead of the Festival in Chicago

Lollapalooza is making its grand return to Grant Park in Chicago this week, bringing four exhilarating days filled with music that span a variety of genres.

The festival will run daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, hosted across eight stages within the picturesque Grant Park.

This year’s lineup is impressive, featuring performers such as Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Notable headliners include Tyler, The Creator; RÜFÜS DU SOL; Luke Combs; TWICE; A$AP Rocky; Korn; Gracie Abrams; Dom Dolla; and Djo.

The event is significant for a number of reasons, marking a year of milestones. Olivia Rodrigo, who has gained widespread popularity, will be making her debut at Lollapalooza Chicago.

Additionally, Luke Combs has the distinction of being the festival’s first country closer, and TWICE will be celebrated as the first female K-pop group to headline the event, according to the festival’s official announcement.

As excitement builds, it’s important to note that all one-day, two-day, and four-day tickets are officially sold out on Lollapalooza’s website.

For those still hoping to attend, verified resale tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

**How To Get In**

Access to Lollapalooza will be available at two main entrances: at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive, which is the same location as the box office, and at Monroe Street and Columbus Drive.

All festival-goers can expect to go through security screenings upon entry, which will consist of bag searches, magnetometer screenings, and pat-downs.

To gain entry, attendees are required to wear their wristbands on their right wrist for scanning. There are no physical tickets, so it’s crucial to activate your wristband beforehand.

**What You Can Bring**

The festival has specific policies regarding what items attendees can bring into the venue. Clear bags no larger than 12-by-6-by-12 inches are permitted.

Fanny packs and clutch purses smaller than this size do not need to be clear but are limited to a single pocket.

As a heads up, attendees should keep an eye on their belongings; pickpocketing can be a problem at Lollapalooza. Fanny packs are advised to be worn facing forward for better security.

It is essential to note that outside liquids are prohibited within the festival grounds. However, free water stations will be available throughout for hydration.

Hydration packs are allowed but must be emptied of all liquid upon entry. These bags must also have no more than two pockets in addition to the water reservoir pocket.

The festival’s website features a complete list of prohibited items, including coolers, blankets, aerosol cans, selfie sticks, and umbrellas.

For more information on amenities such as locker rentals, charging stations, health and safety measures, and lost and found, be sure to check the festival guide.
