The Georgia Lottery Corporation has announced that two lucky players have each won $1 million through different scratch-off games, bringing joy and excitement to the Peach State.
An Axson resident cashed in on the Millionaire Maker scratch-off, pocketing an impressive $505,685 in additional winnings.
Meanwhile, a Decatur player celebrated hitting the jackpot with the Lucky 7 Multiplier scratch-off also worth $1 million.
In the past week alone, the Georgia Lottery saw over $41.3 million distributed in prizes from scratch-off games, highlighting the popularity and potential of these instant win games.
In related news, although there were several notable wins in the latest Mega Millions drawing, no players managed to claim the grand jackpot, which has now climbed to an estimated $130 million.
A Brunswick player made headlines by winning $30,000 due to a 3x Megaplier, enhancing their original $10,000 prize in the Mega Millions drawing held on July 25.
Additionally, a Columbus player matched the winning numbers and won $20,000 with a 2x Megaplier, demonstrating that substantial prizes are still out there.
Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m., with tickets available for purchase until 10:45 p.m. on drawing days at a price of $5 each.
Several other significant wins were reported in Georgia over the weekend, according to lottery officials.

An East Point resident was thrilled to win $100,000 playing Merry Money Mania on Sunday.
Other wins included a Marietta player winning $20,000 from Lucky 7s Multipliers, a Covington resident collecting $16,353 playing Jackpot Spectacular, and a Snellville player securing $15,000 with Mighty Mustang.
A Valdosta player won $15,000 playing Midas Match, while a Hephzibah resident collected $10,000 with the Wild Star Multiplier, and an Evans player also won $10,000 with Merry Money Mania.
Finally, a Blythe resident added $10,000 to their earnings by playing Keno! on the Georgia Lottery mobile app.
All funds generated from the Georgia Lottery’s activities, including digital games and scratch-offs, are dedicated to supporting education throughout the state.
Winning tickets purchased online must be claimed within 180 days from the draw date, whereas instant ticket winners have 90 days from the expiration date to collect their prizes.
The Georgia Lottery applies a 5.75 percent state tax and a 24 percent federal tax on winnings exceeding $5,000.
The Georgia Lottery Corporation provides records to the IRS and the Georgia Department of Revenue for prizes over $600, and is obligated to verify and deduct any outstanding child support payments, student loans, and state taxes for larger prizes.
