FX’s ‘The Bear’ Dominates Emmy Nominations with 13 Recognitions for Third Season

FX’s critically acclaimed series, ‘The Bear,’ has garnered a remarkable 13 Emmy nominations for its third season, released last summer.

Set against the backdrop of Chicago’s vibrant culinary scene, the show has established itself as a major contender this awards season, highlighted by its nomination for Best Comedy Series.

Notably, the show’s stars, Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, are both in the running for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Comedy Series, respectively.

Edebiri also received accolades for directing the pivotal episode titled ‘Napkins.’

In addition to the lead nominations, actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach and actress Liza Colon-Zayas earned nominations for their supporting roles, further showcasing the series’ strong ensemble cast.

Guest appearances have also been recognized, with nominations going to noteworthy actors like Jon Bernthal, Olivia Colman, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Since its premiere in 2022, ‘The Bear’ has amassed an impressive total of 49 Emmy nominations and secured 21 wins, including a coveted award for Best Comedy in its inaugural season.

The storyline revolves around characters Carmy Berzatto, played by White, and Sydney Adamu, played by Edebiri, as they navigate the challenges of transforming a fictional Chicago Italian Beef stand into a high-end dining establishment.

The anticipation for the show continues with the release of its fourth season, which dropped in June.

This year’s nominations reflect a strong performance following last year’s impressive haul of 23 nominations for ‘The Bear’, which was previously a record for a comedy series.

That record was equaled this year by Seth Rogen’s Apple TV+ series, ‘The Studio.’

The nominations also include Chicago-born actor Ike Barinholtz, who received a nod for Supporting Actor for his role in ‘The Studio’, alongside fellow Chicago native Harrison Ford, who is nominated for his performance in ‘Shrinking.’

In an overall analysis of this year’s nominations, the dystopian workplace drama ‘Severance’ shines prominently, accumulating a staggering 27 nominations.

This includes lead acting nominations for its stars, Adam Scott and Britt Lower.

HBO’s popular series ‘The White Lotus’ also continued to make waves, securing numerous acting nominations across its cast.

Four cast members, including Chicago actress Carrie Coon, are nominated for Supporting Actress, while three actors, such as Walton Goggins, are recognized in the Supporting Actor category.

Notably, ‘The White Lotus’ trails only behind ‘Severance’ in the drama nominations with a total of 23 nods overall.
