The GRAMMY Museum is all set to host GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Cam for a special event featuring her new album, “All Things Light,” which is scheduled for release on July 18th.
This occasion will take place in the intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater, offering fans a unique opportunity to engage with Cam in a deep discussion about her creative process, her rising career, and much more.
Following the discussion, attendees can look forward to a special performance by Cam, promising an evening filled with music and storytelling.
In her journey leading to this album, Cam has found a guiding light during a particularly dark time in her life. As she faced the challenges of becoming a mother during the intense isolation of the pandemic, she turned to songwriting as a source of solace.
This introspective process unlocked a profound depth in her lyrics, allowing her to explore significant themes.
As her daughter Lucy began to ask profound questions—prompted by the passing of a cherished pet chicken, including the query, “mom, what happens when we die?”—Cam felt inspired to delve even deeper into her artistry.
The result is “All Things Light,” an album rich in insights and reflections that Cam hopes will offer her daughter guidance throughout her life.
The album is being described as a revelatory offering filled with soul-baring songs that listeners can return to for clarity, sustenance, and peace of mind.
For this project, Cam has reconnected with her longtime producer Tyler Johnson, who has an impressive portfolio including work with artists such as Harry Styles and Beyoncé.
The creative lineup behind “All Things Light” also includes notable collaborators such as Michael Uzowuru, Ethan Gruska, Jeff Bhasker, Aldae, Starrah, Ilsey Juber, Nick Lobel, Ian Fitchuk, Anders Mouridsen, and Simon Maartensson, showcasing an impressive cross-section of musical talent.
Cam first emerged in the music scene in 2015 with her debut album “Untamed,” which charted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 and featured the 3x platinum hit single “Burning House.”
This track earned her a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Solo Performance and has since become one of the best-selling country songs by a female solo artist.
Her follow-up album in 2020, “The Otherside,” saw her creative circle expand, collaborating with talents such as Jack Antonoff and the late Avicii.
That record also featured songwriting contributions from well-known artists like Sam Smith and Harry Styles.
In a significant achievement this year, Cam lent her writing talents to five songs on Beyoncé’s “COWBOY CARTER,” which has landed her a nomination for the 2024 Album of the Year GRAMMY as a key songwriter.
Beyond her own work, Cam has also written for a number of other prominent artists including Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, 070 Shake, and Diplo, demonstrating her versatility and range as a songwriter.
