Maya Patton and Max Orr’s wedding was not just a celebration of their love but also a welcoming event for their guests to explore the charms of Philadelphia.
The couple designed a weekend itinerary that encapsulated the essence of the city, ensuring their out-of-town guests had an unforgettable experience.
Maya, who has deep roots in Philadelphia, created a 48-page guidebook filled with highlights of the city for the attendees, many of whom had never visited before.
The festivities included a private trolley tour around the city, featuring a stop at the iconic Rocky Steps, and an exciting Eagles game followed by a personalized tour of Lincoln Financial Field, colloquially known as the Linc.
The wedding invitation suite evoked the spirit of Philadelphia with RSVP cards shaped like the Liberty Bell, capturing the city’s history and flavor.
For an extra touch of whimsy and history, a Ben Franklin impersonator made a surprise appearance during the cocktail hour and dinner, sharing local tales and engaging with guests, further enriching their Philadelphia experience.
The couple exchanged vows atop the rooftop of the Franklin Institute, surrounded by a stunning skyline that served as their biggest decor piece.
At precisely 6:30 p.m. on October 18th, the exact moment of their first meeting six years prior, Maya and Max stood before their 46 guests to declare their love.
To commemorate this significant moment, the couple incorporated a custom wedding logo based on a Shinola clock face, projecting the time of 10:18 on the reception walls in the museum’s Franklin Hall.
Maya expressed that her goal for the wedding was to immerse their guests in the Philadelphia experience, which she felt was a resounding success, as she began to receive numerous enthusiastic text messages celebrating the local sports teams.
The wedding reception was adorned with loose, organic floral arrangements featuring roses, snapdragons, and baby’s breath, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
An innovative seating chart presented on scalloped A-frame boards featured acrylic motel keychains, providing a fun and interactive way for attendees to find their places.
Maya’s vision of showcasing Philadelphia resonated with their guests, evidenced by the lively chants of ‘Go Birds!’ from attendees long after the wedding.
The event was a collaborative effort involving various talents and vendors, each contributing to the memorable occasion.
