Introducing Nicolás Antonio Salvatore Barroso: The New Force Behind Toscana Mare in Key Biscayne

Toscana Mare, the popular restaurant located in The Towers of Key Biscayne, is experiencing exciting changes under the leadership of Nicolás Antonio Salvatore Barroso.

Originally hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Salvatore Barroso has become a vibrant presence in the culinary scene of Miami.

Fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian, he holds a Business Administration degree with a Finance major alongside a postgraduate degree in Marketing.

His passion for fine dining is further underscored by his WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits.

Salvatore Barroso has called Miami home for over 15 years, building a successful career in renowned restaurants across iconic areas like Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, and the Design District.

For the past year, he has been part of The Toscana Divino Group, a respected Miami entity in Italian dining, known for its operations in several high-end locales, including Park Grove on Bayshore Drive.

Recently, he stepped up to the role of District Manager at Toscana Mare, allowing him to dedicate more time to the Key Biscayne community, which he deeply appreciates.

“I’m excited to interact more with the community,” Salvatore expressed in a recent interview with Islander News.

He has begun connecting with residents, especially those from The Towers, to introduce them to a new pool menu that allows them to enjoy Toscana Mare’s offerings poolside.

Reflecting on his experience in Key Biscayne, Salvatore Barroso enjoys the island’s cultural diversity and vibrant Hispanic community.

His goal is to provide exceptional food, service, and a welcoming atmosphere that embodies the warmth of authentic Italian hospitality.

A major highlight of the recent changes at Toscana Mare includes the introduction of a fresh menu that is now more in tune with the beachside ambiance of the restaurant.

The upgrades aim for a more relaxed dining experience, eliminating tablecloths to create a casual and inviting space for patrons.

Additionally, diners will soon have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning outdoor terrace, which had been closed due to construction work in The Towers.

When asked for recommendations from the new menu, Salvatore suggested starting with the irresistible Steak Tartare.

For mains, guests can choose between the Frutti di Mare Taglioni Neri or the flavorful Branzino alla Griglia.

“Of course, no dinner would be complete without dessert, and our decadent Lava Cake with Pistachio Ice Cream is second to none,” Salvatore remarked enthusiastically.

Special offers are in place for residents of The Towers of Key Biscayne, which include a 15% discount, weekly specials, and $50 off wines priced up to $150 on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Interestingly, these perks are also accessible to non-residents.

By simply joining the free Friends of the Towers program—an easy process that involves asking their server during a visit—anyone can enjoy these exclusive benefits.

As a bonus for Islander News readers, those who mention the article will receive a complimentary glass of wine at Toscana Mare.

In addition to a full liquor bar, Toscana Mare hosts a lively Happy Hour from Wednesday to Saturday.

There are exciting events and promotions on the horizon, and locals are encouraged to stay tuned for more details.
