Exciting Upcoming Events in Houston: From Kolaches to Bluegrass

Houston is buzzing with exciting culinary and cultural events this November.

Kolache Shoppe is welcoming patrons to its new location at 10321 Katy Freeway in Memorial City, hosting a week-long celebration from November 3-9.

This special event will feature daily giveaways, including free kolaches and coffee, as well as gift cards and bonus loyalty points.

A standout highlight of the week will be the Houston Food Bank benefit day on Wednesday, followed by a buy-one-get-one pastry offer on Thursday.

On Friday, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary coffee drinks, with the chance to win free weekly coffee for a year—perfect for coffee aficionados!

Music lovers can mark their calendars for Thursday, November 6, when Goode Co. Armadillo Palace at 5015 Kirby Dr. will host its annual Oysters, Blues & Brews event.

This celebration of Gulf Coast flavors will feature mesquite-fired coastal dishes and live Texas blues music, brought to life by The Mighty Orq from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event will benefit the Coastal Conservation Association’s Building Conservation Trust and tickets start at $100.

Brennan’s, located at 3300 Smith, will introduce a brunch series on Saturdays, November 8, 15, and 22, where guests can enjoy live piano music and half-priced rosé from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In a tribute to the late bartender Richard Middleton, Brennan’s is also hosting its annual Turkey Trot Whiskey Tasting on Monday, November 10.

Attendees can look forward to sampling eight one-ounce pours of select Wild Turkey whiskies, paired with signature hors d’oeuvres from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $50 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Discovery Green, situated at 1500 McKinney, will transform into a vibrant festival ground as it hosts the Bites & Beyond Festival on Saturday, November 8 from 1 to 10 p.m.

This event promises to engage all the senses, featuring local chefs, food trucks, beverage pop-ups, and a diverse range of music from house to Latin beats across multiple stages.

Tickets start at $30.48, with VIP options and Party on Stage passes available for those seeking a more exclusive experience.

On the same day, The Pit Room Memorial City will kick off the Brighter Futures BBQ from 6 to 10 p.m., a fundraiser supporting Communities In Schools of Houston.

Guests can indulge in exquisite barbecue and sides while supporting local students, with tickets priced at $300 per person and table options available for larger parties.

Concluding this week of festivities, Saint Arnold Brewing Co. at 2000 Lyons Ave will collaborate with Houston Dairymaids for a Beer & Cheese Pairing on Sunday, November 9.

Participants can savor a curated selection of five artisanal cheeses paired with five signature brews from Saint Arnold, plus soft pretzels and a complimentary beer token for the Beer Garden & Restaurant.

This delightful tasting experience runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and tickets are available for $50.
