William Shatner Brings His Live Performance to Dallas

William Shatner, the legendary Canadian-born actor, continues to captivate audiences with his unique talent and flair.

At 94 years old, Shatner’s contributions to entertainment span decades, most famously as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, but also including roles as cop T.J. Hooker and lawyer Denny Crane.

On July 30, Shatner will be appearing live on stage at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas as part of his “William Shatner Live on Stage” tour, featuring a special screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, which holds a special place in fans’ hearts as one of the best films in the franchise.

After the screening, Shatner will engage with the audience, sharing stories and answering questions—except for his home address, of course.

When asked about his association with Dallas, Shatner enthusiastically responded, highlighting the city’s prominent football team, the Cowboys.

“The Cowboys, of course, which led to great emotional fatigue for me when they would play the Rams,” he said, marveling at the team’s human struggles and passionate spirit.

Shatner referred to Dallas as a noble city, characterized by its towering buildings and vibrant business atmosphere.

As a food enthusiast, Shatner also expressed his love for BBQ and Tex-Mex cuisine, prompting a conversation about his favorites in the city.

“I love ribs. I need a recommendation for ribs,” he noted.

Attending the interview via phone, Shatner requested suggestions from locals or the Dallas audience, expressing genuine excitement about discovering the culinary delights of the area.

A local gem, Pecan Lodge, was mentioned as a highly recommended BBQ spot that is conveniently located near the Majestic Theatre.

Shatner differentiated between BBQ and Tex-Mex cuisine, describing BBQ as reliant on the proper wood and Tex-Mex as emphasizing herbs and peppers.

This ability to weave various narratives together is indicative of Shatner’s talents as a storyteller, actor, and spoken-word artist.

The conversation then shifted to his latest project—a new album featuring collaboration with country star Brad Paisley.

Shatner revealed that the album is set to explore themes such as health, love, and the depth of human experience, with a tentative title of Things I Had Loved or What I Have Loved.

“I think it may be the best album I’ve done,” he said, hinting at the rich variety of topics he aims to tackle through his music.

Reflecting on the current state of the world, Shatner highlighted the turmoil and change that defines this era, comparing it to dramatic historical events.

He expressed his belief that today’s challenges may rival even the most significant conflicts of the past.

“We’re on the lip of greatness or destruction,” he warned, emphasizing the importance of living in the present and harnessing creativity amidst chaos.

Shatner’s upcoming performance in Dallas promises to be an engaging experience, blending nostalgia, storytelling, and a celebration of life.

Fans eagerly await the chance to connect with a true original, as he continues to inspire and entertain across generations.
