As the 4th of July approaches, many residents in Southern Nevada are gearing up for a long weekend filled with festivities. This year’s Independence Day promises a variety of low-cost events for families and friends to enjoy.
For those seeking outdoor entertainment, the Movies Beats and Eats event takes place at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas on Saturday, July 5. The featured film for the evening is “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which will screen approximately 15 to 30 minutes after sunset, around 8:15 p.m. Attendees can arrive early for music, food trucks, vendors, and affordable concessions, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Residents of Nye County can look forward to the Town of Pahrump’s outdoor movie series, showcasing a free screening of the classic film “The Wizard of Oz” at Ian Deutch Memorial Park, Field 4, also starting at dusk around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 5.
For those seeking tranquility, Mountainside Yoga returns to Lee Canyon on Friday, July 4, and Sunday, July 6. Set in a picturesque mountainous location, the yoga sessions will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats, water, and sunscreen. A registration fee of $10 has been implemented due to high demand for the classes.
Music lovers can rejoice as Downtown Rocks brings a free concert series back to the Fremont Street Experience on Friday, July 4. Country music artist Craig Morgan will take the stage at 9 p.m., providing an exciting night of live music.
Additionally, the popular First Friday event returns to the Las Vegas Arts District on the same day.
