Next week, watch enthusiasts in New York City can look forward to two major events celebrating the world of horology.
The first is WatchTime New York, taking place from October 17 to 19 at Gotham Hall, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
This year marks the show’s 10th anniversary, which is expected to elevate the event to new heights.
With 42 prestigious brands exhibiting, attendees can expect to see notable names such as MB&F, Breguet, and Chopard on display.
The highlight of this year’s show is the opportunity for East Coast collectors to discover brands that they may not encounter frequently.
Not to be missed are Voutilainen, RGM, Ming, and Konstantin Chaykin, which are must-stops for serious collectors.
While Friday evening’s cocktail party is sold out, the main event will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, providing access to a wide range of luxury timepieces.
Simultaneously, the Windup Watch Fair, organized by Worn & Wound, is set to run from October 17 to 19 at Center415, just a few blocks away from Gotham Hall.
This year, the fair has expanded significantly, featuring an impressive lineup of 150 brands showcased across four exhibit halls.
While it’s impossible to list every brand, attendees can look forward to seeing offerings from Arken, Oris, Brew, Studio Underd0g, and many more, including MB&F’s M.A.D Editions.
Additionally, Hodinkee Insurance will have a presence at the fair.
With the multitude of microbrands exhibiting at Windup, it’s likely that some will offer special show-only editions for sale, making it an exciting opportunity for collectors.
Aside from the incredible selection of watches, these events also draw attendees for the chance to meet industry professionals.
Many well-known faces from various brands will be present, providing a unique opportunity for fans to engage with the people behind the watches they admire.
I will be at both events throughout the weekend and encourage anyone interested to come by and say hi!
In addition to the watch fairs, there are other noteworthy events planned.
The Fondation Haute Horlogerie is holding its inaugural FHH NYC Watch Summit on Friday, October 17, at Glasshouse Chelsea on 25th Street.
This forum will run all day from 11 AM and include several industry panels, including a special session at 3:30 PM titled “Myths and Misconceptions in Watchmaking,” featuring a collaborative discussion with various industry guests.
Lastly, don’t miss the Indies.NYC show on October 16, a carefully curated gathering of eight independent brands in Hudson Yards.
This event will showcase a diverse array of unique timepieces, including those from Hodinky Berkus and M.A.D Editions.
As excitement builds for these back-to-back events, it’s a reminder of New York City’s status as a vibrant hub for watch enthusiasts.
Prepare for an immersive experience filled with incredible watches, engaging conversations, and special editions that collectors won’t want to miss.
