Mystery of the Liquid Assailant in Williamsburg Sparks Local Fear

An unsettling mystery has captivated the trendy neighborhood of Williamsburg, as several pedestrians have recently fallen victim to bizarre attacks involving unknown liquids and aggressive egg-throwing from a notorious building.

Residents of the Edge Community Apartment on Kent Avenue find themselves grappling with a mysterious assailant who has taken to the second story of their building to launch these unwelcome assaults.

Local residents have resorted to amateur sleuthing through neighborhood group chats, keen to identify the perpetrator while doing their best to avoid passing directly under the offending window.

Magdalena J., a 31-year-old resident of the building, expressed her frustration, saying, “The building hasn’t done anything about it. They don’t care.

We don’t want to be hit with anything. It’s ridiculous — It’s getting worse and worse,” she said in an interview with The Post.

Describing the purported assailant, one resident, who wished to remain anonymous, characterized her as a “crazy,” pink-haired, older woman.

Residents speculate that the attacks stem from anger, with one local proclaiming that the motivation behind these bizarre incidents is very straightforward — she is simply “angry.”

The troubling behavior first came to light after a victim reported suffering chemical burns from being splashed with a mysterious substance in December.

Another victim described being hit with an odoriferous liquid that resembled “bleach mixed with chlorine,” and some newcomers to Williamsburg were greeted with what they referred to as a “tsunami” of “used cooking oil.”

In a recent incident, a 30-year-old man who was splashed by an “unknown liquid” took the precaution of calling 911, but the police were unable to determine the exact apartment from which the substance was thrown.

As the situation escalated, witnesses reported a shower of eggs being thrown from the window, narrowly missing pedestrians below.

The sidewalks along Kent Avenue now bear numerous stains from the mysterious bleach, leaving residents on high alert as they navigate the area.

Attempts by The Post to reach the suspected perpetrator went unanswered, though a combination of male and female voices was audible from behind the door, refusing to engage further.

Clifton Management, responsible for the building, acknowledged the issue, stating it was cooperating fully with authorities in addressing the matter.

A spokesperson for the management company remarked, “We are aware of the incident that took place and are cooperating fully with authorities to rectify the matter as quickly as possible.

Given this is an active NYPD investigation, we are unable to provide further comment at this time.”

Residents are taking precautions, with many deciding to avoid the northeast side of the street between North 5th and 6th streets altogether — even if it means crossing the street multiple times just to reach the grocery store.

“I don’t wanna get hit,” shared tenant Maria Mccants, 56, as she detailed how residents are forced to navigate the area.

The manager of Brooklyn Harvest Market, Josue Cortorreal, has also taken the step of advising his staff to seek alternate routes to work.

“Be aware walking over there because it might happen to you,” he cautioned his employees.

Neighbors from surrounding apartment buildings have initiated various group chats to theorize about the identity of the mysterious assailant.

Issac, a local who experienced a splash months prior, suspected it was merely water from a water gun, while his wife Rachel noted the increasing danger of the situation.

“It’s a dangerous situation, and we are at our wits’ end about it,” she lamented.

With growing concerns about public safety, locals worry that the situation’s escalating nature might lead to something much worse, especially regarding the use of bleach and other corrosive substances.
