Navy Pier transforms into a vibrant hub of contemporary art as Expo Chicago kicks off this week, attracting an international audience.
The elaborate art fair opens its doors to the public at 11 a.m. on Friday and will run through Sunday.
Recognized as the largest art fair in the city, Expo Chicago showcases thousands of artists represented by over 170 galleries from 36 countries.
Organizers could easily create an alphabet book based on the array of cities represented, beginning with Amsterdam, Busan, and Chicago, and concluding with Zurich.
John Corbett, a Chicago gallerist and member of the Expo Selection Committee, expressed excitement about the geographical diversity featured in this year’s lineup.
